Which type are we hoping for? (I know nothing of these things lol)
Type II (cosmetic) is the better option for the finish. Type III (hardcoat - which is named after the fact that it is nearly as hard as diamonds) would be a significantly more durable finish, but the cost is higher and the finish is not as bright. Also, Type III would add just enough thickness to the parts to start worrying about adjusting tolerances. Hardcoat can be 10 times as thick as cosmetic. AKA, instead of adding .0002, it adds .002. That may not seem like alot, but it's enough to mess with the clearance.
