I have not built it to test it yet, on the drawing board, but tempratures are not a problem with pyrex. The sudden stop on the other hand is. But this should handle a 3' drop with out breaking the way it is designed.
Dan

Here's the thing... Pyrex can handle all kinds of temp extremes... So can stainless... But when you have stainless iside a Pyrex tube, and you take the pair through an extreme change in temp, the different expansion rates come into play... And the pressure from the stainless breaks the Pyrex.

I thought you already decussed that in this thread zen? aww but anyway, what about some kind of super soft oversized o ring that will sandwitch itsself between the glass and ss as it heats up...kinda like a gell type something or other so you can make the glass a size bigger to start with ....idk just shooting shadows...

or a food safe heat safe silicone like they use for baking as a liner around the ss so the glass and ss have like a gasket between them...just make it a bit thicker....

Wow this thread is super active, I go to work and come back to 10 pages of missed posts or so :)

The Heazen Zenfidels are waiting at the ready like rabid dogs waiting for the fox. Soon my brethren and we shall have our steel and golden vapors!!

HAHAHAHAHA, in all seriousness though, soon the new toys will be in the mail!!! OO-RAH!!

So I've been away for a few hours... I do feel a lot of love in this room.

I spent an hour on the phone with the machine shop... Things are still on schedule, and I can't believe it... These guys are good! Next week we will know if it's true or a brilliant technique to keep me out of their hair... In either case, I'm impressed.

Part two: I had a friend of mine go into the engraving shop in Chicago to take possession of the unengraved Limiteds... They have been secured and will be on their way back to me in the morning. I'm going to find a local engraver by the time they arrive. This project will have an ending... Perhaps not as happy of an ending as hoped, but an ending none the less.

The cases for the minis are en route... This is good news! The cases for the standards are not... Hopefully by the end of the week.

All of the small parts for the February and March PVs have arrived... The small parts are stainless screws, spacers and delrin insulators that come from a different machine shop... These are all perfect!

The switch magnets have arrived for the February shipment of PVs, and the price has increased 4 times in the last couple of months... Something about a magnet mine shutting down... Until this news, I never heard of a magnet mine!

And the O rings arrived yesterday.

The polycarbonate for the tanks will be here Friday. It's going to be a long weekend getting them ready in advance for the assembly! I also have 100 dozen wicks to roll and oxidize before next weekend... I have about 30 dozen rolled.

In short... So far so good. Everything is on schedule, and I'm not going to jinx it by saying there won't be any issues between now and shipment date... I can most definately say that I'm really looking forward to getting these into the hands of the Feb-Zens...

It's going to be a proud moment for me, and this just doesn't happen without the folks that have donned the Zenfidel monicker!

Who wants to be teased?

I finalized the manufacturing plan today and set the wheels in motion for a new product from the house of hybrids today!
The first person that correctly names what the product is will win one when production is done... In about six weeks.

I can tell you the following hints about what it is...

It is not a PV.

It is not an atomizer, nor is it a cartomizer.

It does not require a battery.

I will add more hints as we go on...

"the Product" will be available from House of Hybrids, and Bombay Vaping exclusively. The reason I am making it available through Bombay is because the demand for this product will be so high, that I will never be able to keep up with the orders as a single source. Also, the owner of Bombay is a cool guy, and I like him.

Ok, so that's it for now

Edit: one other thing...Kcos is not allowed to guess... She has seen the new product... She is also not allowed to tell... Even in PM... She stole my zenesis standard prototype and is holding it hostage until her Mini is ready.

I don't like that.
