I can not wait for these........Its about time..thanks azza...

No problem, i'm sure everyone else would of found them. I posted it up to see what everyone thought. I'm relatively inexperienced when it comes to rechargeable batteries. So I am hoping others can sort through the jargon and help me as well :)

Those Callie's customs batteries have been discussed various places, including the candlepower and laser forums. There's a lot of questions about them and very few solid answers, including are they really IMR or are they unprotected LiIon cells.

I couldn't get a satisfactory answer directly from Callie's, so I've avoided them.

I recommend AW batteries... Purchased from an AW distributor.

Yeah, I couldn't satisfy myself enough to buy them either. Thanks for reinforcing my decision. I did go aw from RTD. :)

Thanks Zen.

I will keep my eyes open for any new information about these. But for the moment AW it is.

That was a great demonstration as to why the AW is a superior battery for our use!

Notice how the wires on the AW immediately started to melt the insulation? That means the battery is delivering a LOT more current into the short circuit, and that is exactly what I would hope to see happening.

The Callie's dumped far less current, and we need to remember Current is what is stored in the battery, and current is what we use to drive the atty. the ability to deliver more current is exactly what is needed to perform well in a PV.

Neither battery exploded, this is a good thing, but the fact remains that when driving a dead short, the AW produced a LOT more current.

Both batteries demonstrated they were safe, neither vented, but for PV purposes, the AW clearly outperformed the Callie's.

The higher current available produces a more violent chemical reaction, thus the AW cell heating up considerably more, which may frighten people... And think that was the point of the video.

For me, I saw what I hoped I would see... The aw battery demonstrated a safe discharge into a dead short, with considerably greater current delivery.

Now I REALLY recommend AW batteries for our use... There was proof that these things can really dump some current and not explode!

I've noticed that people REALLY don't like being told that their battery choices are limited to a single brand... People fought with ProVape when they said the AW battery was the only appropriate battery for the ProVari, but until they found one other cell that had sufficient performance, the AW was the only battery that could handle the load of that circuit with a load on it.

If you want to see a ProVari behave badly, drop a surefire silver in there... The PV will shut down with no warning on a regular basis. The same can be said for Trustfire, they just don't cut it in a ProVari under common conditions
