That's a really good analysis of the video. Thanks Zen.
Exactly....the only analysis....Like Zen said they will get hot as hell, and you will drop your pv, but you will keep your face..... prayers are with you Tom....

edit: did everyone notice how nervous he was with that LiIon, and how calm he was with the aw imr LiMn

I have been researching and keeping an eye on battery development for a few years now, and all discussions here at the ECF, and over at the CPF and LPF, and AWs have consistently been voted the best by a lot of people who I think know their stuff. So I would second / third the recommendation to stick with AWs. The Pila charger gets the same level of recommendation every where if not more. I got one for myself sometime back and has been working flawlessly. Only downer with the Pila is how much it costs! Heck the car charging adapter costs more than most ultra fire chargers!

I did come across a new charger at lighthound and battery junction called the i4 intelli charger which looks good, has some good reviews and is about half the price of a Pila with 4 independent charging channels, but is out of stock everywhere currently.

"I've noticed that people REALLY don't like being told that their battery choices are limited to a single brand"

Yep!!

It just doesn't make sense to me. Normally when there is a great product there are competitors which are equally as good. Then it comes down to price vs. known brand blah blah. Obviously this is not the case with Zenesis or with AW. You get what you pay for.

I've dug my own grave now, I have to buy AWs. The reason being is that if I buy any other battery and something bad happens, then I won't ever hear the end of it. It won't be the batteries fault, it will be my own for not listening.

I am not an expert, but this is my understanding.

AW is basically a quality control. Aw doesn't manufacture any core cells. Aw batteries do have Panasonic cells in them. They select the A+ cells from a manufacturing run. When you buy one you know you are getting a new battery at the top of the spec sheet with proper QC all the way through . It is what is written on it. They have an amazing track record from flashlights and now vaping. That is why so many people recommend them. Especially considering the price of failure. They are just the best call for the masses.

For people who know what they are doing there are other ways to get the exact same innards or innards that are equally suited.

If you don't really know whats going on, and or fully trust your vendor stay AW for the track record. It's not worth the risk and wondering.

See I am not jealous about them having the prototypes, they also had to deal with Zen~ in near nervous breakdown because he took everything and gambled on his idea, which means there was no one to blame, and all the self doubt creeps in, hell the man musta been a basketcase half the time, the people who got prototypes also had to be around him like that. They needed the great vape to get thru it IMHO.

And I hope he is breahting easier now.

 lmao....well, if ya wanna know the truth? Zen was more excited about the 'production' prospect rather than being a basketcase, when a nice group of us met for our get-together last weekend ;) I myself live an hr and 15 mins from him so it's not like I bother him every day by showing up at his doorstep...and he asked me if i wanted to beta test the provari version since I own one and live not too far away, not the other way around. of course I jumped on it, but since it wasnt ready yet, I have the gg prototype to tide me over until the beta ends up in my evilly flaming hands

Talk about advertizing the benefits of the Zenesis, my ProVari took a nosedive off the counter and the attached tank just yanked the inside of the 510 connector right out of the top cap.

Well that wouldn't have happened with a one-piece device.

That sucks. Will you be able to send it to provape for repairs?

I'm not sure this is true... I would love to find a list of batteries that have the same innards... All we know is the AW battery is made for AW by Panasonic. That said, I have not found a battery made by Panasonic that has the same specs, or even similar so I have surmised that the AW battery is a cell that may be made by Panasonic to the specifications of AW and there's no equivalent cell that is available, even from Panasonic.

So... The folks that know what theyre doing realize there isn't an alternate. I have some 1500 mAh IMR batteries that I purchased from ikenvape that work exceptionally well, but they don't seem to have the same current delivery. Good... Not great... And good enough in a pinch...

But of you want the best performance available... AW is the only choice at this moment, but the quest to find alternatives continues.

Omg...

I went to buy a Pila charger...

It cost me nearly 300 bucks by the time I added in the tactical flashlight and all the accessories like the remote control and stuff!

LOL--

Let me guess the rationalization. Gee, I have all these 18650s laying around...I have this great battery charger...I always wanted a Light Sabre....

That's what happened to me, anyway.

why does this thread always turn into a what battery is better thread? enough with batteries!!!! back to the topic of hand.....

OK...

I'll come right out and say what no other PV maker has ever said...

Are you ready for reality?

The single biggest factor in getting a good vape is...

THE BATTERY...

A PV is a Battery holder with a switch and a way to hook up a heater element.

Your battery IS YOUR PV... The rest is all about getting the current from your battery to the heater coil. Every PV on the market does this reasonably well. Some are better than others, but all do it acceptably well.

When a PV maker that has a clue sets out to design a PV, he(or she) has the task of finding a way to safely house a battery and turn the power on and off.

Everything else is window dressing... all of it.

If you go to the mad vapes site, and buy a Bolt PV for 40 bucks, and stick an AW 18500 battery in there it's going to vape EXTREMELY well... if you stuff a cheapie battery in there it will become lackluster in performance and safety is out the window.

Changing ONLY the battery makes the difference between a super safe and well performing device and a dangerous pipe bomb that doesn't vape all that well.

Interesting thing though... that Mad Vapes Volt PV is USUALLY sold to folks on a budget... and those same people are likely to buy the cheapest battery that will fit in the thing, so they will, in all likelihood, never get to see what that PV can REALLY do!

The Bolt isn't as robustly built as many others out there, but with a great battery, it's a great little PV.

So now let's look at the high end mechanical PVs... Super T, GG, Galileo, The Don, and even Puresmoker Icons and Prodigy PVs... these higher priced PVs frequently end up with Higher end batteries such as the AW IMR batteries because THESE folks can easily afford them, and they are chasing the end-all vape. Most would feel silly to spend 250 bucks on a PV then go to eBay and end up with trustfire or ultrafire counterfeits.

The users of the high end devices RAVE about the performance of their PVs... they attribute the high performance to the PV design, instead of seeing the reality that they are using FAR superior batteries in the power supply.

I don't mind if batteries are a topic in here, though I don't want it to be a battery thread in general... because I build a battery holder with an atomizer built into it... and it's the best battery holder I can personally design given my present level of knowledge... and I KNOW if you put an inferior battery in it, you will suffer from inferior performance.

On a mechanical designed PV... THE BATTERY IS YOUR PV.

Discussions about batteries are OK... ARGUMENTS about them are so very NOT ok!

OK?
