Here is what I think is going on with that .. the Standard was designed for the 2000 mAh 18650 which is a little longer than the 1600 mAh 18650. To accommodate both versions?, there is a small metal spacer that fits/slips over the screw in the button and keeps it from tightening all the way down.

If you remove this 'adapter/spacer/whatever it is' and tighten the screw all the way down then the button has the same profile as the Mini - but - will not fire the 1600 mAh version of the 18650. This is my theory at least, I don't have the 2000 mAh version yet so I can't test it out.

What I don't get is why not just add a magnetic spacer to the nipple of the 1600 mAh, won't that do the same thing? I could test that out, but geez - I just got it and am afraid that might somehow screw it up!

LOL, I don't know how it would - but I'm gonna wait for Zen to give the all clear before sticking anything in there that don't belong!

I remember reading that zen wanted to make them so they accommodated both the 1600 and 2000.

I thought he said he wanted to do it in a way that a magnetic spacer was not necessary.

Ok .. I couldn't help myself - just to be on the 'safe' side, I flipped the battery over (the way that is not recommended, lol) - and put a mag spacer on the nipple ... which seemed a better idea than sticking a magnet up into the tube touching the atty/connector/thingie. Fired right up.

So .. if you have the 2000 mAh 18650 battery you can remove that 'adapter/spacer/whatever it is' and your button will be the same as it is on the Mini.

I do remember. :D

Sorry they're such jerks to deal with. It IS a great case though.

If you remember correctly... In the "Show us your crapton of vaping gear" or whatever it's called... you showed that case... and I asked WHERE on EARTH did you find such a wonderful case!

And you told me...

do those use washers to fit? do you have any other sizes? when you say "did not fit" which part?

I tried again. I am putting it where the dt goes. I can barely get it to the o ring on the dt. It won't go down all the way.

Oh well I am using my t-tips just fine. They are a very tight fit though.

Used a magnet spacer and it is perfect for me now.

sometimes I have to get them wet to wedge them on. I have a number of different o rings that have come with them and sometimes I have to change them out as well.

Tried that as well. It is not the oring that wont go in it Is the actual base of the dt it is slightly too wide and will not go down further.

I have the 2000 mah 18650 and had to use the spacer to make contact. The plastic insert in the bottom cap on the standard is longer.

those are 7mm longer though? so you had to add one to make contact? that seems like the opposite of what you would need to do. Am I confused?
