this morning I am doing a little better (minus the broken standard of course)

I still cannot get the bottom coil to glow until well after the rest. It glows eventually, but not till much later.

any advice for that little coil specifically?

That is likely not a problem at all. The bottom coil normally takes a little longer to heat up because the juice fed from the tank hits it first. If everything is working right, when there is juice in the tank, the heat from the coil should cause the juice to move up the wick similar to how a candle works. Through convection and capillary action, the heat warms the mesh which starts the cold juice moving towards where it is being evaporated from through the capillary action of the juice being in contact with the mesh and attempting to even itself back out.

If there is juice in a tank system like this, typically the coil furthest away from the tank will glow first on down the line till all have dried up the juice available in the wick and they all glow brightly.

This could indicate a short if you notice a very small and very hot spot on the coil where the coil takes longer to glow. If this were the case you would get a metallic burnt flavor from the juice. You would also notice a stream of steam coming from that spot, almost like if you drilled a hole in a steam pipe. I don't think this is the case though from what you have described.

Mr P. Have you tested the Panasonic CR18650CH. If so, have you seen any potential problems. I have had a battery go into catastrophic failure, in my face, on a car. So I don't take battery safety lightly and I wouldn't recommend an unsafe battery to anyone by any means. I have some training on batteries and on battery safety. If Mike feels this is unsafe and is not recommended I will discontinue use, Or consider at least.

At least you'll have a hotel room you can nap in! Will they let you check in early?
I checked in and am on my way to the other hotel for today's events at the holiday inn..'naps are for those who need sleep... I only require nic and alc to function, been getting both since landing on red eye

:) Cheers and Happy vaping!

Check out Grimm Green and Amber's new juice company...NAMBER, while you're at the Hoilday Inn. It's their first foray into the vaping biz. They're going to have some of their new juices there! Enjoy and have fun!

I'll go take a nap! :D If only I could...

Perfectly put! I have been trying to think of a way of explaining this so all could understand.... Superb!!

It was the "glowed eventually" part I was missing, and the fact there was juice in the tank... my assumption... incorrect as it was, was that you were in the setup phase with no juice present!

So there we go...

Mike, you and Karen have tons of fun at Vape Bash for the ones of us that can't go. :( Be safe but have a blast!!! :)

LOL... you make us sound like an old married couple!

I'm proud to say the Western New York Vapers club will be there in full force! Karen and I are going on the plane tonight, and we have at least three members on a west bound train leaving at 11PM...

And the Zenfidels are looking like a few as well... gonna be a blast!

Good morning Zenfidels!!

I've got a problem again.....

My mini Zenesis has taken over, I no longer own it, it owns me. It's also done something to all my other mods, cartos, and attys because they longer taste right, they're off now! The great taste that they used to have has faded terribly, kinda reminds me of the burning paper taste that I used to get when I smoked. It's frightening and I'm scared now!

I'm with you. My expensive atties now have a distinctly "wet cardboard" note that is noticeable and not appealing in the least. I thought it was the atties at first, but I don't think that is the case at all now. I'm right with you to get another in May. The good news is we don't need a support group. We've already got APVs.

WooHoo!! I will be attending BASHFEST fo Sho! Does anyone know when VapeBash is going to have the vendor area open? I thought the website said Saturday starting at 2pm CST but I just heard someone else say 1pm. Bringing my mini along!

BOTH Vapefest (at Hyatt O'Hare) and the Vapebash (at the Holiday Inn) have web sites up giving all the pertinent information. Vapebash.com and Vapefest.com, I think.

The only blue county in Texas!
Okay, I've been unable to get my Zini to wick. I can get good hits but only if I tilt upside down each time. Flavor is still lacking... but I get a hint of what's to come (which is maddening - I know it's going to be so good!!!). Can anybody confirm or deny from this shaky, crappy video I just made whether I have a short? I need help identifying! I've been poking around at it but it's been consistently lighting up as shown in the video.
