The only blue county in Texas!
pchela, when you get a chance, could you add the correct polycarbonate tubing size to the tank measurement post:

The correct tubing size is 3/4 ID and 7/8 0D with 1/16" wall.

Thank you! :)

Is this for the mini or standard or both? And it is for polycarbonate - meaning that the sizes I have listed now are correct or incorrect? Sorry - I'm slightly confused!

It's for the polycarbonate.

I do believe the sizes posted now are for the Fused Quartz. Maybe wait for zen to verify that before you make changes, just to be sure? :)

on edit..sorry...it's for both the standard and mini. Just the heights are different between the two and the heights are included in the other posting for the fused quartz. You could add the height in this polycarbonate info too. It might save more questions down the line.

mini: 1" tall (febbies are 1 1/16")
standard: 1 5/16" tall (so are febbies)

Okay, I've been unable to get my Zini to wick. I can get good hits but only if I tilt upside down each time. Flavor is still lacking... but I get a hint of what's to come (which is maddening - I know it's going to be so good!!!). Can anybody confirm or deny from this shaky, crappy video I just made whether I have a short? I need help identifying! I've been poking around at it but it's been consistently lighting up as shown in the video.

I am seeing a couple shorts there... When the whole coil lights like that with shorts.. The shorts will burn brighter than the rest of the coil.. Hot spots, if you will.. Should be a warm unified glow.. Without the bright white hot spots.. These spots are shorts...

Try lorderos tilt and pulse method for seasoning the wick for a few minuets. Then try zens poke and prod... This should work out any shorts that are proving hard to get rid of...

So, is this info for people who need to replace their tanks on their own? So they know what size to buy?

Exactly. zen~ is waiting on parts. I have no tank on my Zenesis, so I bought some polycarbonate tubing to cut my own until he gets stock of fused quartz tanks. These will be great to have as backups if people break their fused quartz tank.

Yes indeed... I will be there tomorrow afternoon. Probably around noon. Save me a tank, PLEASE? The Polycarb tubing I'll be cutting today (if all goes well) is the 1/8" wall, but at least it will hold liquid until I can get a tank from you tomorrow. The 3/4" x 7/8" 1/16" wall will be here Monday...so I will have some spares.

I can't wait to try the mini too! I have six batteries packed for it. :D I have been vaping on Stardusts for 2 days and cannot tell you how dull the flavors are. What a difference.

I'm looking forward to meeting you, Karen, Bumpi, Rich and UncleDagger (did I miss anyone? Ripple?).

That is likely not a problem at all. The bottom coil normally takes a little longer to heat up because the juice fed from the tank hits it first. If everything is working right, when there is juice in the tank, the heat from the coil should cause the juice to move up the wick similar to how a candle works. Through convection and capillary action, the heat warms the mesh which starts the cold juice moving towards where it is being evaporated from through the capillary action of the juice being in contact with the mesh and attempting to even itself back out.

If there is juice in a tank system like this, typically the coil furthest away from the tank will glow first on down the line till all have dried up the juice available in the wick and they all glow brightly.

This could indicate a short if you notice a very small and very hot spot on the coil where the coil takes longer to glow. If this were the case you would get a metallic burnt flavor from the juice. You would also notice a stream of steam coming from that spot, almost like if you drilled a hole in a steam pipe. I don't think this is the case though from what you have described.

well there you have it.

I wish I has PM'ed you about 30 hours ago.

This answer would have saved my a broken device and some almost tears :)

thanks once again lorderos.

zen, I really do not think it is a short as it does glow eventually. just not till after the rest.

that is only true, if it really doesnt take that long for the full coil to heat up....kinda like a snake moving around the wick, heading in a downward spiral, which I have seen with thicker juices in the wick..... it shouldnt take more than a second or two for the whole coil to glow regardless....completely dry would be considerably less... otherwise, if it takes a condiderably longer time, then you do have a shorted coil.

I don't know what I would do without Amazon. I rarely go to that site for something I need, and not find it. The polycarbonate tubing was the icing on the cake...and it has Prime Shipping. Unreal. :) They lose so much money with my Prime Membership because I take FULL advantage of it. :)
