you definitely have more than one short there peach..... I was seeing one at the bottom coil, one in between the 2 middles, and at the very top...and thats just from the one sided view....

That coil looks just fine to me. I don't see any shorts. No, it isn't glowing like a light bulb...all at once.....but I see nothing wrong.....other than a dry wick. Now you just have to figure out the right wick set up.....as it appears to me you have the oxidizing and wrapping down. YOUR COIL IS FINE.....just incase you didn't get it the first time.

Okay, well, I've been futzing around with it and I can get it to all glow nicely but the top one or two ALWAYS glows brighter than the bottom two. Since I don't really know what I'm looking for, I don't know if it's a problem. I'm not getting a metallic taste, just dry hits, so I think I need to sort out the wicking. I feel like I'm so close to vaping heaven!!!
Oh, btw, changing the tension on the switch is a breeze! Debating if I should go to low or leave it at medium.
And another btw, I am so jealous of all of you going to Chicago!!!!
Edit - for clarification, my coil wrapping skills are 0. Haven't tried it yet, this is Zen's coil. I'm not tearing anything apart - I'm gonna figure out how to use the one that I KNOW is set up properly first.

It does not look like a short at all. What are you vaping juice wise. Is it thin or thick? Looks like it's firing pretty good, your juice may simply prefer less heat so you may have the right mesh but may need to add a 5th wrap to the coil to tame the burn (this will also increase the flavor of the vape considerably).
I am vaping a Copper Creek 60/40 blend. Maybe I should try a higher PG juice to start off?
If by chance you don't want to wrap a new 5 wrap coil, and if you want to use that as is... and by the way, it's looking good... it MAY improve by thinning your juice a bit.

Just thought I'd mention that I am the parent of the newest HeaZen. My 2nd child, Oscar, was born Thursday night, 3/29 at 8:30 pm and was 22 inches long and 10 lbs, 7 oz when he arrived
Mama and baby are doing fine, dad has slept less than 90 minutes in the last 40 hours or so.
