Zen did an awesome job of keeping his cool and putting up with all the needless nastiness from the TSA. I felt so bad for him but when they finally did let him go and he chose to come back to the hotel I waited up to give him a "glad you're back hug"! It is inconceivable that he was held for all those hours and forced to stand even when he requested they return some meds, bring him a chair and give him his personal PV.
I was shocked and dismayed when he called me to hear he was still in Chicago at 5:00 am though I was relieved they were letting him go.....after the hug I went and stole a beer for him lol it was the least I could do!
Man!
That was a hell of way to end "Bashfest"!
So very happy you made it home Zen.......chill have a dozen beers and take a vacation day!
Big hugz from me!
C.B.

CB I am so glad you were there with a cold one at the end of the day that wouldn't end! I agree - Zenfidels ARE awesome! :)

Did that. Tape doesn't like moisture and heat combined. :)

I used some cheap masking tape, folded one end over so I could get it off again easy, and just started making the hole bigger until I found a size I liked. Honestly, now that it's wicking much better, I prefer the cap as is, and I don't like airy draw at all.
But... the masking tape held just fine.

I was a 1SG (First Sergeant for you civilians) in the Army and when I left Iraq the first time on my mid-tour leave and the TSA singled me out for the search and pat down. I was in uniform with an ID card and couldn't believe that they would randomly pick me amongst the hundreds of others, a Soldier fighting against terrorism.

Bottom line, being associated with the DoD does not protect you or have any weight with the TSA.

Ironic and, quite frankly, idiotic.

TSA trys to tag and bag zen for having explosive residue in his brief case.Once that was discovered bet they didnt take any luggage he had in the gargo bays off the plane he was on,or search the passenger areas where a explosive device might be hidden. No they just tried to make him lose his cool so the could arrest him.You sir are of more value to the security of this country than all of the idiots at TSA from top to bottom. Thank you for your service to the country.

Zen my friend....I'm glad you came away from that with your head held high! For those that have never been through an ordeal like that.....I assure it is nothing short of what zen described....subtle torture. I travel for a living, fly dozens of times a year. Was detained one time because my welding bag (which I no longer carry with me) had the residue from my welding supplies. I cant even put my experience anywhere near the same level as Zens.....but it pushed me close to my breaking point after it cause me to miss my flight home to my family after being gone for over a month.

Glad you made it home safely buddy! You SHOULD have some mail waiting for you that might cheer you up a bit. Get some rest...relax....and we can chat later. Glad you guys had a good time at the bash...wish I could have been there!!

Ob.....I was the one that said if needed I would make a video on flame polishing the tubes. It wouldnt be the glass tubes....that can become very dangerous if done incorrectly, so I'd leave that to those with the experience (glass can explode send little pieces flying if not heated properly). The tubes I have I think are poly tubes.

@ Cigarbabe....I think that's a great idea having the Zenfidels chat along with Zen. Would be good hearing the newbie spin on the learning curve that comes with owning any type of genisis atty. Sharing experiences with other newbs is what got me through when I started with these almost a year...actually this month makes a year ago. :)

Wow, Mike, I'm so happy you made it home despite the horrible experience, I wish we had been together Sunday since that could have been the last time any of us saw you now!!! I couldn't figure out how to get into vapefest again, sorry....:(:(:(

Reason #2 why I haven't flown in 5 years -- and 6 years prior to that.....8-o8-o8-o

I missed the bumpi thing......;) And cigarbabe is hot, too!!! :thumb:

I had a problem with leakage, quickly figured I had to draw the air back out to maintain pressure...only problem so far!!!

Don't forget me stud!
I'm gonna wear your shirt on my show coming soon with part 2 of
"Zen the Man, the Mods, the Zenfidels"!
I've been thinking about having some of you possibly skyping in to talk to the audience about why you love your zen mods. Whaddya' think? Would any of you be interested in getting more info out to my audience and having Zen take your questions?
I'm thinking about doing it in the next few weeks depending of course on Zen's availability on a Friday night.
Post here and send me a pm if you'd like to be on the show.
Did I mention the "Zenfidels" are awesome!?
C.B.

That would be a great show, CB! You should get people like lorderos, Shaitaan, Ripple, Riddle...they all know a LOT about rebuildables and are a wealth of information. Murdock Ruml should be a Skype video guest with his gas mask and hat! :D

I'm really looking forward to that show!

Yeah...I can explain it....and it will make sense to me....but I can't guarantee it will to everyone else!

You need me to go ahead and make the video? I can do it today?
Riddle, I think more than just ob may benefit from your effort. If you actually have time for it today - go to it!! :) (please) ;)
