This is in the Mini description... I've read all the battery threads I can find and still a bit confused. Which battery do you use in you mini and why.... And generally how long are they lasting between charges. (I realize this is highly flexible and dependent on how heavy it's being used.)

I've seen some 18350 700maH bats and some 18350 1200maH bats... The 1200's are going to last longer right? At what cost though, or what's the trade off... Safety?

They should have relatively similar safety. The 1200 mAh protected batteery will last longer but the power curve of the IMR will provide a more consistent vape.

The only battery recommended is the AW IMR 18350 700mah.

IMR is safer chemistry and output more current then protected cells.

The APV was designed around that batttery. Batteries are not always the same dimensions, and some have nipples like AW and some do not.

Don't over think it. Just get red labeled AW branded IMR 18350 700mah batteries. Most protected higher mah batteries are not able to provide the same current output and may not fit correctly and don't always live up to claimed mah rating in practice.

I am not a battery expert, but repeating what I have been told..........

The only batteries that should be used in the Zens are AW IMRs. The Std uses AW IMR 18650 2000mah and the Mini uses an 18350 700mah. The Zens have been machined to a very fine tolerance and are made specifically for these batteries. I don't believe the 18350 1200mah is IMR, but I could be wrong about that.

According to Zen's calculations, you should get one tank full to a battery, whether it is the Std or the Mini. I don't get quite that long on either Zen, but I think that is because of my long draws. Also, if you have a short in your coil, that could/would also shorten your battery life.

Thanks guys... I've also read the Pila chargers are the way to go. I guess you must use some kind of optional "extension arm" to allow the 18350 to fit in this charger?

I applaud the Pila Chargers, but yes, you will need spacers. (I can't say anything against this decision)

I use the XTAR WP6 II 6 bay charger and also use 4 XTAR Spacers per battery and get very good "off the charger" voltage tests of 4.2-4.21V

I have a XTAR MP2 and it's a 2-bay 18350 mini-charger that I love because it's a usb charger, very small, requires no spacers, and it comes with USB/wall-plug and a 12V car charger, but there is some variability to them with regards to final charge voltage. RTDVapor is swapping me for a new one that he has tested that will cap the voltage to 4.20-4.22V because the original one I have seems to want to charge the AW batteries to 4.26V (which will lesson overall battery life). Anything off the charger at 4.25V or higher for AW IMR 700mah is not ideal for longevity on these cells according to the OEM.

If you get an MP2, make sure to test the voltage off the battery to ensure you got a charger closer to 4.2-4.22V on a multimeter, or understand that your batteries might not last as long.

My best guess, based on Zen's posts, is at least another week until the ZAs show up on the site. If the ecommerce is back up on the website, the first of the ZAs will start to ship to the Pre-Order list in the middle of this coming week. The ZAGs and ZAPs will be a little longer as they require more finish work. After all the Pre-Orders have shipped, the balance of the ZAs will be on the site.......maybe week of the 14th, maybe not.........

I have a TP-003 and love it, but bought an XTAR WP6 based on a lot of recommendations. I have problems with an 18350 popping out. Any tips?
