*sigh* got home from work and checked my mailbox, still havent recieved my zaps yet :(

Mine arrived today, a day late. It's great. No bad hits at all, coils are burning OK, and no error messages on my Provari that I never bothered to update since I like a cool vape and hated dual coils. I'm a happy camper.

Done, Rat....may I take your order? Anyone else?
Single malt, neat. Thanks! :)

good advice vicsan... you should avoid that cat saliva for sure. those cats are dirty animals. now, it seems that their spit can carry the plague... what?!? you're not blaming the rat for this, are you!?!
From what I remember reading, it was actually the fleas that spread the plague.

Vic, at first I was pronouncing your name as vic-san, kind of Japanese style. When I realized you are female, it changed to "vixen".

Good news everyone! I am all set. vicsan, I did what you said, I snugged up the coil to the post and refilled, as Bamrz suggested, with a juice I had that was 80%PG. Took a few hits and it was ok....ran a bit through. It was wicking like crazy. Switched back to my high VG juice and it's rockin! I think by moving the wick away from the post to tighten the coil I put a slight bend in the wick and it wasn't wicking very well. Now, it looks just like I did when I got it. Zen's advice is spot on too. I never should have futzed with it. It's pushing out mad clouds of vapor.

Sorry Zen, I did SOMETHING. But, I should never have messed with it in the first place. I'm good now. Lesson for the new owners here. Just DON'T MESS WITH IT. Curse my scientist blood! If I had just left it alone and NOT SCREWED AROUND with the wick/coil I would never had a problem. I'm on my third tank now and it's just perfect. I won't touch it again until the coil blows.

Thank you thank you thank you everyone for all your help.

And since we're all drinking, I'm 4 beers in, and about to make a Hendricks and tonic.

Don't be stressed. We're here to help. :) First, unscrew the positive screw and just snug up the top coil to the wick. Re-tighten the screw, making sure the wick isn't touching the center post.

Fire it up, if the coils don't fire at about the same brightness, just give them a nudge until they do. Firing and tilting until the juice puts out the coil will help gunk up the coil a little. That could be a factor in the harsh hits also.

You can also add a drop of distilled water to the juice to thin it a bit, if you don't feel comfortable changing out the wick. A well seasoned 400 wick will wick VG juice. I vaped (2) 30ml bottles of 100% VG through my 400 wick....without thinning it, but it was a well-used wick. :)

The more you can vape it, the better it will get.

Sorry, but I have to gently disagree with changing anything out just yet. I'd suggest refilling with anything on hand that is 50/50 or lower VG until you get the mesh/coil broken in and the wraps adjusted. Limit what can go wrong, then change one thing at a time.

ETA: Need more coffee! I never thought about adding a drop or so of water to thin the juice! Yay Vic!!

Change NOTHING... when you learn how to make the original setup work, you will have learned a skill that you will need moving forward... EVERY MESH AND COIL, unless it is worn out, can be made to vape perfectly... take the time and have the patience to work through it. I can get straight VG to wick on a 500x500 mesh...
