Yes, I understand - I've been single a long time now but I remember the best way to manip, er, I mean, compromise.

Nothing good coming for me right now. I wanted to buy the SS Lavatank but my hours just got cut at work so I have to be practical. Is it your first Lava? I only have one + 3 Bellas & a couple of Smokteks. Can't quite get the hang of tanks - think I'm punching the holes wrong & they always dry out. Thinking I'll sell them & stick with my Zens, where no such problems exist....

Bet you're a pretty terrific husband so I bet your 'splaining works out lovingly, lol.

Thats a pretty rough thing to throw out there with one test... gotta wonder if you got a false positive which definitely happens and esp so with solder due to the high amt of tin. I have a very hard time believing Chopper would use leaded solder...his level of integrity/honesty has been SO beyond straight up.

And he's been as upfront as can be about leaks and redesigns too and asked for the opportunity to redo any w/ issues. Anyone who puts A LIFETIME warranty on their product? And at such an affordable price point? Says an awful lot to me. I did a ton of reading and asking in deciding on my first real RBA and is seems the majority of S&S customers love the Defcons, so factor in the price and knowing if at any point I have an issue they will fix it for free? Wont be my only I'm sure as I'm a gadget freak, but sure seems to be a solid first.
So how are these things at putting out throat hit and vapor I saw the video and it did not look too impressive on vapor production?

I swapped the magnets out of my mini for the spring method that fellow Zenfidel Mac_206 instructs on in his youtube video :) I used an extra Provari spring I had lying around. Of course, I had to manipulate the spring a bit with a couple of pairs of pliers so it would fit nicely around the center switch post, but it works flawlessly  The switch now requires a very firm press to get the bottom button to fire now, which is what I had hoped for :) I can set the mini upright and pocket her now with virtually no concerns of accidental firing :D
How are you guys liking the shipped switch resistance? I'm not sure if I want to screw around with the magnets, since I heard they are pretty fragile. Also does the mini have the same magnet setup as the standard?

Stuck at work, and all I got on the brains are Zens, lol.

sobero4,

Why did you change to the spring? Was it because of worrying about accidental firings or did you have contact/firing issues?
I'm curious 'cause I've been fighting firing issues from the get-go, which I think I finally solved with a slightly longer screw.... Just curious, as so few will admit to having issues...

Don't get me wrong - I love my Mini but I've struggled with firing issues from the beginning & only recently discovered others in the thread (like Ma'am & emonty) admitting same....

Aww, thanks! Yep, first Lava Tank. I actually bought two of them, but will probably only keep one. I like tanks for my Provari at times when a Genesis atty proves impractical. My work is pretty physical, and sometimes my Provari goes flying outta my pocket. That'll have to do till I can get my hands on a Working Man's Zen or two!

Well done, friend! It took a bit of playing around, but I think I got the magnets and washers the way I like em on my standard and mini. The standard has two washers and on light magnet setting. The mini has two washers and is on medium setting. Man, I love them both. I find myself not wanting to use tanks/cartomizers at all anymore. In fact if it ends in -omizer, I'd prefer to have nothing to do with it. lol

I'll confess to firing issues. It took a bit of fussing, but with the above arrangement of washers, and magnet tension (along with good alcohol cleanings, as well as contact cleaner) I finally have both humming along great with only the occasional misfire. It took a good week to get my standard to behave 99% of the time.

Ah, well,

It's wonderful how far the technology has advanced & the pace at which it continues is..., breathtaking!

Here is what I know: No matter how much fussing it takes, no matter how many work-arounds & cob-jobs, I've embraced vaping forever.

I am 55 years old, smoked pack & a half to 2 packs a day for over 38 years. I was holding my mother's hand, alone, just the two of us at her home, when she died from COPD. Swore I'd quit the day she died & couldn't. Knew I was doomed to die with a cigarette in my hand - my fate, no choice.

Fast forward a year or so and I found out about vaping. I've been free of cigarettes for 2 1/2 years now & will never go back, now that I've found vaping.

To me, it's just a miracle....
