Now, ya see, THAT'S what's I'm talking about!
No, seriously. That's the most basic level of community; the most basic level of civility.

G'Night, all. Take care, rest easy, and those of you on the other side of the world where the sun is coming up, good morning and good day!!!

At the risk of repeating myself.. You sure are firing on all cylinders tonight!! I think you nailed it.

Unfortunately I saw the writing on the wall, in terms of what was going to happen tonight. Mike you were gracious enough to give one lucky Zenless soul the experience of their vaping lifetime last week, and the word got out. Those that have happened onto this thread just to peak in from time to time, came in tonight expecting to receive. After some time went by and they saw the writing on the wall, the teeth came out and they attacked (although they tried to mince it into their words), it was obvious.

I can understand your frustration. Last week you were able to just chit chat and relax. This week you were bombarded with questions from the onset. Sure everyone wants to know this and that but nothing has changed with the availability since last week and if I had then perhaps waiting an hour or two before asking the questions.

I won't comment on the switch issues (since I personally can't speak from experience) but there are plenty of suggestions scattered about and a Tips and Tricks thread that may help as well, so I only comment or offer suggestions based on the long time Zenesis owners recommendations. You said not to use No-Ox-ID and I will take you at your word that it shouldn't be used. I don't know the answer to those with switch issues who have tried all the suggested tips and tricks and are obviously frustrated, perhaps not posting the issue but sending you a PM but also being willing to give up their PV to send in for diagnosis. I just don't know.....as I want to help those who are having issues and I know you do too Zen~. I have no tips or tricks....I'm more of a repeater at this point.

I hope you return next week and it's more like it was last week, a relaxed atmosphere of taking and BS'ing, thrown in with a little info when you are ready to share.

*I hope I didn't offend anyone with this post, cause I see how some have become frustrated with certain issues. I don't see the side of those that just want what they want at any cost, and to he!! with having any respect for anyone. Again my apologies to my friends who may feel offended, as it was not my intention*

Posting without reading......so flame away.....I got my flame ......ant drawers on.

You know we could start a "Beginners Q&A Zenesis Page" or something and all of us link it in our sigs, then anwser the questions as they arise (like the FAQ thread but make it open to questions).

I've heard this idea tossed around, also heard something about Zen~ not being able to post in more than one- but that sounds perfect. Less stress on Zen, while the same old questions are being answered in a separate thread (stickies). The "must know" parts could be pinned at the top- such things as "don't keep sending repetitive questions, your answer is here" type of thing. There is no doubt that a lot of the stress on both sides comes from the same stress points. Zen shouldn't have to repeat over and over about the switch. ...I dunno- if done right, seems like it could serve both sides really well.

Well, last week the visit here was fun, this week it's the complete opposite.

I've spent some time reading through the thread between posts and what I see, is basically a lot of complaining and whining and general malaise about how awful my switch is, and how hard it is to buy my PV's and attys.

Somebody mentioned the sense of pride I must feel.

That's long gone...

I built a PV and put the word "Zen" on it...

And it has made people behave in selfish, miserable and even dishonest ways.

One person used them for bait to rip people off.

RichC was present in the thread for a while... made nice nice and then managed to buy three PVs during the midnight madness sale... that he then proceeded to gouge the living daylights out of people at 500 dollars plus per PV...

Greedy People

Selfish People

Miserable People...

And a few dozen nice people that have been here from the start...

Why am I saying this?

Because this is the legacy of this thread...

This thread and this PV has brought out the WORST in people...

I am SO SORRY that I created this thing.

It hangs around my neck like an albatross.

It has brought out some of the worst behavior I have ever seen from adults.

Do you know that I sent out payment notifications for Z-attys and somebody shared the link so that people that were not on lists could sneak in? And people actually had the nerve to do it? Cheateing other members of the community out of their rightful spots?

Can you IMAGINE the stones ya gotta have to do that to people you are socializing with?

It's greed... plain and simple.

People buying them to price gouge... come ON people... what is WRONG with some of you.

And lately, there has been a contagious negativity like sharks sniffing out blood in the water... and it has got to stop.

Seriously...

I KNOW it's hard to buy these things... but don't BLAME ME, I started out with the plan to make 10 per month... I'm making more, but holy cow... don't get ANGRY with me about it... it's just a freakin' PV and if you can't get one, you should relax... eventually you will.

I figured, OK... I'll take some time out each week to chat with the people...

Last week I gave away a Z-atty to somebody that didn't have ANY zenesis device... and you know what I got? PMs from people that were ANGRY because they don't have theirs yet... and not one or two PMS... over a dozen.

Can you IMAGINE being that selfish?

Like I said... this has brought out the worst in people...

And some of you should be truly ashamed of your behavior.

The Zen PV should bring people together... it's new and different and it was building a great community.

But The community has every sign of turning into an angry mob.

And if it continues down this path I'm going to pull the plug.

I may or may not be back for a chat next week... I have PVs to build, and the break from it was nice... last week... this week... not so much.

As many of you may have noticed, I have shipped a TON of stuff in the past three weeks, and I am NEARLY caught up... and when I get there, good things will happen. NEW people can get devices.... New product can be introduced.

Until then... think about this...

Stop the negativity... I mean it.

Be nicer to each other, and less critical of each other... and while you're at it, try being a little less critical of me as well.

I don't have a factory filled with employees. I am one guy that doesn't make enough on these things to hire anybody and frankly, that's fine by me. I'm going to make them as good as I can, my way, on my own.

If you hate your PV or it's frustrating you... please sell it or send it back. There are quite literally hundreds of people that want it.

If you're tired of waiting for a PV or ATTY... don't take it out on me. I've had enough.

So that's my rant... it wasn't my plan to do this tonight... but I honestly don't think my thread is a very fun place to hang out any more, and I miss it.

I wasn't feeling very welcome here.

Not at all.

Wow.

I am truly depressed right now.

I highlighted a few things that I actually cannot imagine. I'm obviously too naive for this place.

In my naivete, I feel that anything that goes on in this thread isn't that bad, but seen through the lens of those facts I highlighted, everything comes into a gruesome, apocalyptic light.

I'm failing to process this. You guys have brought me references that should have helped: those silly "beanie babies" and the limited edition disc set that stirred up so much trouble. But I still can't process.

I'll take a (short, long?) break from here. There must be something I don't get as I hang and chit chat and feel good and all the while, it seems, evil lurks all around this place. I don't see it, and that troubles me. So I must be doing something wrong, mistaking something for something else and... I'm sleep deprived so bear with me... I'm obviously inept at contributing anything potentially good here.

Thanks for what appears to have been a fake wonderful experience.

Hope to see you all in other places or at other times. Enjoy your Zeneses.

hang in there Mike....I have contributed positively and on my bad days, also negatively and not proud of it.... I am proud to say that you are a friend and feel your pain here tonight, and the joy n excitement when things are going right for you...I among the many here appreciate all you've done and salute you always...I don't think there are many that realizes how big this has come in such a very short period of time, especially for only one person to handle. I've seen the popularity grow exponentially, so fast it makes my head spin thinking about it. I've been excited about all your ideas since the first day we met, wanting to get my first apv from you. patiently (and very excitedl) I waited for my standard and mini, felt like a kid in a candy store when I recieved them and wanting more...then came the z-atty's...and hell, when ya told me about the zenjectors and the dragon? I knew then that I had to have em... hell I think I've probably shocked you with my patience, excited as I have been about all these wonderful items... BUT, it matters not to me if i wait/ed 6 minutes or 6 months for one of your works of art, I knew/know I would be getting them ;) there are others out there that feel the same, and we all stick behind you whatever you do...

Zen~,

As far as the pride you felt in your apv's, please feel it again. I know I've been a member of at least one of the negative categories you mentioned above and we've both made our peace with that. YOU, however, should feel nothing but overwhelming pride in that you've been able to imagine, create, and bring to market a series of truly outstanding Genesis-style devices.

  • Price gouging resellers? To hell with 'em - not your problem. And don't try to make it your problem. People have been exploiting markets since recorded history began and you aren't going to change that fact. Don't let it get you down. That will change as more become available.

  • People complaining about "malfunctions"? It is not your responsibility to answer every offensive/.....y/demanding message you receive or post you read; nor is it your responsibility to personally train each and every owner of your devices until they achieve competency. Ive seen at least a double handful of people who were banging their heads against a wall when they first received their HoH devices do prompt about faces once it "clicked".
    • Listen: things have gone far better than I ever imagined they would for the first "marketed to the average vaper" rebuildable Genesis. Yes, you've made these things far more accessible than they have been for the vast majority of vapers, but the truth is, these things aren't idiot-proof by any stretch of the imagination. If they were, the Chinese would already have done it - and all you need to do is check out the various major vendors' sites to know they are trying
    • Do you think Dell or Apple trained everyone they sold computers to? Do you think they have a 100% satisfaction rating? Unless you're selling orgasms, (vape-gasms don't count), I'd suggest you shoot for something under that 100% satisfaction rating and not worry too much about it ;)
  • The legacy of this thread is NOT that it (or you) brought out the worst in people. The thread's legacy is that you've created something that really rings peoples' bells and they want it - that's it! Think hard about this: you are not responsible for how other people act, even if you disagree with their actions. You are not the Thought Police or the Morality Police. You are not a savior or the leader of a movement. You're a guy building APV's part-time for the vaping community because you want to - nothing more.

Once your distributor agreements are in place and you can actually build more, I expect you'll find yourself in a much better frame of mind. In the meantime, weather this storm like water off a duck's back.

Keep up the phenomenal work and remember: "Tibi ipsi esto fidelis".

- Tim

All over the place
It probably didn't help the situation that I couldn't stop bragging about how cool this gift was.

That's funny...I didn't see anything like that TP (if I can call you TP ;) ). I know people want a zen--like really badly--but, sometimes I wonder if their only other alternative to vaping is a gas station disposable special? I mean what's really going on? (Rhetorical question)

Sad to say but its purely human nature. Envy turns into jealousy turns into frustration. And this can really bring out the worst from ALMOST everyone.

Thou saying this, i do believe there are ppl who sincerely wishes to be here and are purely a Zenfidel.

Switch Problem SOLVED !!!

After putting together the fact that Zen~ could not re-create the missfire problem that I and some others have been having, and liveone pm'd me saying that he/she noticed the contact between the screw and the negative end of the battery seemed small and that sanding it helped, I decided to take a closer look. I used a microscope and had a look at the screw for the switch. There was 2 points on the screw that made it so that only 2 little points the size of a pointy pin were all that were touching the battery. I sanded it again lightly with 400 grit paper and the 2 bits were still there. I sanded again this time using much more force and checked again. Still 2 little nubs left. I did it again, this time sanding for 1 minute straight and by the time I was done I had made a very small flat area on the head of the screw. I thought this could be the problem when I first found it, but now I KNOW this was definitely the problem. You guys need to sand the screw head for approximately 30 to 60 seconds on 400 grit sandpaper and I promise you this will fix the miss fire, weak fire issues for good. No contact enhancer needed.

I feel really bad that I upset Mike tonight and vowed not to sleep until I figured this out. (I am like that and will not let a little thing like this stop me from making something work) There is never anything in my house that does not work because I always fix it. That is a legacy that my dad left me with. He always fixed everything in the house and taught me how.

Long story short, I am sorry Mike for upsetting you, but if you did not say what you said, I would not have done what I did tonight.

Vape Long, and Vape Proud everyone.

I hope tomorrow is a better day for all!!!!!!

PS. Sorry for the book.

I wanted to add to the above, but thought the post was long enough already. I am guessing that not all screws are created equal and that some probably have larger, sharper burrs from the manufacturing process. I think that is why some have problems and others do not. And why a little sanding has worked for some but not all. If you are having problems, please try sanding your screw, I do not think you could sand it too much by hand in one sitting for it to wear away too much of the screw, so do not be afraid to put some elbow grease into it.
