Welcome, brother maleko! ;p
Since expert advice is lagging, I can try some inexpert advice right now.
The "just vape it" really only works for a new Zenesis with a Zen-made wick/coil. I guess. You shouldn't get frank metallic taste. You shouldn't get any metallic taste after, say, quarter of a tank, provided that you seasoned the coil a bit (glow - quench in PG - pulse fire - quench - repeat). I guess you do have a dreaded hotspot.
To test that theory, take the cap off, and slowly tilt the PV to 4 o'clock or until you can see there is liquid on the wick. Then go back to 3 o'clock and fire away. See if anything glows. Nothing should glow, and vapor should come out a plenty.
If something glows, then try to pulse fire it vertically and see how it starts glowing - should start glowing from the top, then the whole thing relatively uniformly. If there's any portion that's outstanding, you need to do the nasty, i.e. fiddle with it. Very, very gently nudge it around. At first do that without firing, but as you get the motion you can actually do it as it glows to see the results in real time.
Evening all.. Got a question.. Some friends come over with two bottles of wine, we finish off one & they go home.. I then proceed to drink the other bottle myself,, Question is, do you spell buzz with two Z's or 3..![]()
shouldn't be a problem. do you have the top cap's hole aligned with the wick? did you drop a few drops on the coil initially and burn it in? do that three times.
Make sure the tip of the wick isn't pinched closed. Otherwise just vape it, it'll start wicking better once it gets seasoned properly.
Yep followed zens video instructions to the T
And top cap is aligned.
I stuck a paperclip down the tube to make sure it was open![]()
Two z's per bottle of wine, Tex...
well done...Enjoy!!!
well if you have distilled water, you can drop a couple drops in your tank, but it should be ok as far as wicking goes. how tall is the wick? is it touching the bottom of the tank or anything? make sure the bottom coil is not causing the insulator to burn
So 1"m in that 1.25 to 1.5 bottle range, so I'm going with 3 z'z just to be on the safe side.. Katz, stay away this evening, pretty sure polygamy is not legal in Texas...![]()
No hot spots here vaping pretty good now
Only problem is I have to go to 2'oclock to get the wick wet and then vape at 3' oclock. Anything Else I get WAYYY burnt nasty taste
I think that might be cause I need to switch to 325 mesh?? I am using Ms.T's Sugar Cookie so not sure on the PG/VG ratio.
Other then that I think I might be on the prowl for a tight draw cap
Ot
You can have a night out hun

How many wraps on your coil? I assume you have at least 3/4 full tank, if so at 2 o'clock you should not be getting a burnt taste and at 4 o'clock you shouldn't either. Since this is your first genesis, you may want a 5 wrap just to get use to the different type of vape. Do you have an insulator, is the wick away from the bottom of the tank, the center post inside the tank and not touching any metal anywhere in the atty portion (except for the Kanthal on the neg and posi screws)? If you have a wrap that appears to squeeze the wick somewhere or a wrap that is separated or gapped away from the wick, that may cause a hot spot that you don't see when the wick is really wet but would be boiling the juice causing a burnt taste.
