so, i did my first oxidized wick. when i filled up my tank, i can see this small black particles seems like oozing out from the bottom of my wick. is this normal? those black particle are probably carbon. help?

That sounds like over oxidizing to me, to the point of carbonizing the wick. When you quench, what type of water are you using? I believe that distilled works the best. What kind of blow torch are you using? The heavy duty blow torches can over do it on the mesh. Just some thoughts...

p.s. If you are using a heavy duty bt, just turn it down some.

I had that same problem at first and I was using tap water and the blow torch was up way too high. I also didn't have the torch moving around enough, I just practically obliterated each spot in hopes of getting a good oxidation. By the time I put the wick in the wick hole, the bottom of the tank had a nice collection of carbon dust. My fingers also showed evidence of the carbon, which is the first sign. It helped me to keep that torch moving (of course after seeing the glow).

I haven't been ignoring anyone, just having a day. So, now when I fire the ASH, the first top 3 coils glow. Everything is tight, clean and secure. Gonna start nudging coils to get it back in shape. Thanks for the suggestions :)

So, what was the problem, just in case I have it some time?.........LOL

jim what is your avi?

Well, it could be a really long face making a silly grin.
Or a nearly nekkid shiny pink lady.
Or a black colored arm making what, I think, is a rawk! (rock) sign.... could have other meanings to this hand sign.
Or like Crypto said, a secret I love cooter thing.

I respect zens wishes about the sale of a zenesis standard / mini
but i ask myself how that will be in future when everything goes over distributors?
That wall is broken i think, its a bit like the dog bite his own tail.

The only thing we as a community can do is vote with our cash. I'm not willing to pay an individual more than the device costs + whatever shipping costs they might have. In your case of paying duty costs etc... I'd probably pay that if I were in the same country, because that's what it would have cost me to get one.

Honestly, I think I didn't dry burn enough before I put the juice in, so I sucked it out, let the wick dry out a bit and then started again. It isn't great, but at least it's doing something.

Can someone with knowledge of how to do a voting poll , post a poll for a vote to make the classifieds a not for profit ie: no markup above retail.

this place ECF should be about community and helping others not profiteering , it is the same culprits again and again doing it over and over on the classifieds and it needs to stop !!

When I starting using these forums back in 2009 it was a lot more about helping and not profit , but times have changed and we need to as a community stand up and say enough is enough. if these people who want to just fleece others to pad their own wallets, want to mark stuff up they can go elsewhere and not have the traffic and #'s this site provides
