Just started :) so 18650 for the mini or 18350?

You need AW IMR 18350 batts for a Mini. You will need at least 2, 4 would be better as you should not put a batt directly from a PV on the charger, nor should you put a batt from the charger immediately in a PV. You will also need to order a charger, also available from Super T.

You can get all you need here at Super T
Super T Manufacturing, Innovative manufacturer of electronic cigarette products.

Super T is pretty quick and their shipping is very reasonable, but AW IMR batts and chargers are available from lots of places.

This is important, so I'll be redundant...

Zen~ only condones the use of AW IMR batteries. Regardless of his absolute requirement, on grounds of common sense alone YOU SHOULD NOT USE LiCo batteries, otherwise known as ICR or "LI-polymer" (generic) in this PV! ONLY the Li-Mn, otherwise known as IMR.

Second - you should avoid ALL no-name, TrustFire and UltraFire batteries.

Third, no one knows which are the "best" batteries. Sanyo and Panasonic are reasonable choices, but not endorsed by Zen~. AW are the "red batteries" with the AW initials on them, and they are re-branded batteries which have proven a long record of good quality control.

HOWEVER, batteries are easily counterfeited so you must stick to trusted, reputed vendors when you buy batteries: some would be Oveready, Super-T and RTD vapes.

Use only a good charger (Pila, Xtar and probably Tenergy). Own a multimeter to make sure batteries are not over-discharged when they go out of your PV and that they are not overcharged as they come off the charger.

Do not use a battery that suffered a bad fall / bump, or that has scraped off coating or that is bent or misshapen in any way. Toss that.

INSPECT batteries before putting them in the PV and after you take them out.

If a battery goes through a bad short, one that make the battery get very hot, toss it.

Do not let batteries (or PVs) in direct sunlight. Outside air cannot really get hot enough to hurt batteries, but metal in sunshine can. If that happens, toss the battery - do not push that button.

Oh, and when I say 'toss', I mean find a place that has battery disposal - electronic stores, some employers have them too - batteries SHOULD NOT go in the trash.

Off my soapbox now.

You have a bit of a learning curve ahead of you. Stick with it. You're going to love it. What did you vape before you got your Mini? BTW, listen to my friends and order the 18350's, not the 18650's I told you to order.

what's the difference between the one I have verses the AW 18350 besides the 700mah on the AW and mines 1200mah

Your's is not safe to use in a Zenesis. Zens were designed to only be used with AW IMRs. AW IMRs are top quality batts and are LiMn Safe Chemistry batteries.

Whoa dogg calm down. Lol! I don't think he meant that he thought it should come with the batts or drip tip. Just bummed he didn't know before hand. I've been there. My 1st mod was a provari and overlooked the extended cap and ordered 18650's and a charger but couldn't vape it till I got the extended cap. Yep it was my fault but I do have to admit I was still really bummed.

When I logged on I knew 20+ pages to catch up on meant Zen~ was on. 800+ posts phew that was some hardcore catching up:matrix:

Evening everyone!

Wow that was some serious zen porn...cant complain tho, my SB and newest addition (provari) are serving me well. I think I need more than just 2 tho, so I think I need to splurge and get the cobalt when they hit the streets. After I snag a ZAP of course:D Every time I go thru my vapestation of juices and see my unused zen stiff draw cap I keep telling it "soon buddy soon".

The 28 ga failed me today and gave up after 3 attempts to wrap an new one...back to the old trusty easy 3 wrap 33 ga. Until I get better at wrapping or get a ZAP the 28 will have to wait til I get some more experience. 7 wraps is a mutha to get glowing/touching evenly.

Off to bed 3am is round the corner.
Night everyone

The difference is exactly that, the chemistry, and here is why it's important:

While I don't know the exact discharge rate on those trustfire's most of them are rated at 1C or 2C discharge. What this means is that you multiply out the mah expressed in amps (1200mah = 1.2 amps) times the max discharge rate. So those batteries depending on the discharge rate can have a max battery amp draw of either 1.2 or 2.4.

The AW IMR's have a 10C rating. So even the small 18350 batteries have a max battery amp draw of 6.5.

This is important in our vaping world because of coil shorts and low resistance coils. A shorted coil or a very low ohm coil will want a lot more constant amp draw then your trustfire battery can supply. When batteries are discharged outside of their range, bad things happen.

In addition the AW IMR's if over discharged(extremely unlikely) will vent and not explode.

Then the proper way to say it is not, that I am bummed that it didn't come with a mouth piece and batt but I need to order a mouth piece and batt. One is taking responsibility, the other passes the responsibility off to someone else.

LOL I thought it was funny Katz :D

Nice what flavors did you get Katz? Where did you order from? What supplies did you get besides the flavors, nic, pg and vg. What kind of beakers did you get for mixing and measuring. I am about to place an order with wizardlabs just don't know what else I need for measuring and mixing the juice.

I ordered from a Canadian supplier and not really a lot this time, although I did get quite the assortment of fruit and dessert flavors. I did not have very good luck with the tobacco so will try again with that another time when I get better at this. I have some large blue glass bottles and mix a big bottle of 16 mg with no flavor. Then put it into little 5 mil bottles to add flavors. Let them sit for a while and try again. I have mostly TPA and some FA and a couple of Capella. I use a syringe and bottles for measuring. I am using only 48mg base so not too worried about spills or getting the mg bang on as it is for my use only.

I don't have the nerve to try DIY. Shame because I have hundreds of dollars worth of juice just sitting here, some i don't even like. Good luck, you two!

If you can make an edible meal or bake a cake, you can DIY. :D

Hey Katz Have you been doing DIY for a while? I'm just starting to really get into it but just can't get it right. Do you use TPA? What % do you mix at.

I have not been doing it for long either. I use mostly TPA and I mix anywhere from 2 to 15 %.

Hey all!! I have a question: I got my ZAU in the other day and all has been great (read AMAZING). However, yesterday the floating center pin started pushing the positive post up into the top cap. I can't even vape it the draw is so stiff. Has this been a common issue with ZAU? And does anyone know of an easy fix?

I heard Zen will be posting a vid about this by the weekend.

Always start at 10%, flavor is everything!!!

Capella flavors @ 15-20%. uhh don't tried it till now but my flavors are around 3-5% max(not capella) everything over it and it tastes bad.
Is that at every Capella flavor so?

Some I am happy with a few drops into 10 ml. Some needs more. It's all about experimenting or following others recipes.

Well, from my limited experience:

Capella are quite weak and they also are more "complex" - no pure notes, so it's tricky to use them well in combinations; usually 15%, and it's pretty much the same for all of them...

FA are crisper, stronger and most of them are simpler; some however taste really artificial / bad; wider range from 5% to 10-12%. FA tobaccos (Perique Black for instance) can already be overwhelming at 2-3%

TPA - I have some I like, some get too perfumey before they get strong enough (in increasing concentration); very wide range - some will ruin a juice at any concentration above 3%, some barely give flavor at 20% - you need to experiment

VZ ultra concentrated - as the name suggests they are quite potent: 1% already can be it, especially in combinations. Most of them mix well with any other flavors, but the tobaccos overpower non-VZ flavors very easily... These are also some of the most realistic tobaccos I tried, too bad I hate tobaccos now...

That has been my problem with the tobacco flavors. I still like tobaccos though. I just do not like perfume in my ciggies thanks. I could'nt stand it if my smokes were in my purse for too long and picked up any smells from the makeup or cologne in my purse. YUK!!!!

Sorry for the long post, but when the stuff showed up I got right to work on some new creations. If anything turns out really good I will post it in the Zenation Group and let you guys know.

AND.... invest the very little cost in a plastic battery case to keep them in...

Last thing anyone needs is one of these batteries shorting against a set of keys in a pocket, etc....

Buy a battery case (or boxes), and use it (them)...

Batteries should be either in your APV, in the charger until charged, or in the battery case...
