But I was dumb enough to try

I brought the wine didn't I? I also wasn't expecting the "Pie In The Sky" Caravela, I was happy that you didn't shrug at the request. I wasn't discounting your effort. I just didn't want you to get any more ridiculous requests from nutjobs like me. ;)

ok. gonna try to do my own recap before I have to pack and watch walking dead. Otherwise I will not do it tonight.

disclaimer, If I leave you out, please do not be offended. I am gonna try as hard as I can.

So, I did not tell anyone I was going because I came up with a idea to go out and wanted to mess with zen. I contacted Rat first, and then tony as I knew they were going on thursday night and did not want to spend that night alone.

We came up with this plan. Basically I was going to be introduced as Tony's friend who was a huge GG freak and did not really like the genesis devices at all. I was going to ask zen every, single annoying question that I KNEW would aggravate him until he literally snapped at me. The funny part is that he told me later (even knowing at that point which I will get into later) that I WAS actually annoying him even though he knew.

So, I got in super late to Richmond. It took 4 hours to get there from DC. They were nice and went to a place opened really late so I could meet them. When I got there I had to pretend that I did not know Rat and that Tony and I were already friends. Andy, and Jon (whois) were there too. We relaxed while tony and rat explained that I did not like the zen devices. I could tell (even though later he said he was not) that andy found me somewhat annoying and that my reasons he thought were kinda stupid. It was hard, because I wanted to be excited, but had to act like a different person. Poor Jon really took the brunt of the joke in the end. Rat kept bringing up with OB guy and was baiting Jon into saying evil things about me. They talked about me being a "fanboy" and a brat who had a device named after him. Rat kept going and going. It honestly could have been worse (or better depending on how you look at it) but at the end of each little rant that Jon made, he would follow it up by talking about how I was mostly annoying because I was so nice on this thread.

Hopefully I changed his mind :)

This went on all night. We went back to rat and tony's room and continued the joke.

The next day, it continued. As I met many of you, I was "richard" (guess why) and once again, I had to pretend I did not know who you were. It was actually annoying. Well finally rat told Jon that "the ob" was there and he wanted to introduce him. He did. To me. I swear it took a second before it set in. He was a amazingly good sport. Of course, because each rant ended with him saying something nice, it was not really that bad. I felt worse for him.

I went to the table several times to plant the annoying seeds for zen, and finally we told him, but of course he knew. I am glad we ended it because then I really got to enjoy everyone that way I hoped to.

So, a little rundown.

Tony and Rat. I cannot say enough about these two. Of course, I had some contact before so I had some chance to get to know them more than the rest. Warm, caring, funny people. Anyone would be lucky to call these two friends.

WHOISJON. Honestly the most pleasant surprise of the trip. Not because I did not think I would like him, but because of circumstances, we ended up spending a lot of time talking. Jon is extremely bright and funny. He is also like MacGuyver. The guy has everything you might need. I just hope I convinced him, I am not nearly as nice as he thought I was.

Ian. I knew what I was going to get, and he did not disappoint. His poor GF looked so bored and I can tell it was a relief when he took her back to the hotel. And I am not sure she was mad that he did not contact her until 3:00am :)

jonny, super great guy and his GF is very sweet too. We ended up in a 15 min conversation talking about everything from vaping to the afterlife. He is so easy going and really just a great guy.

Crypto. see above. Very nice, easy going and easy to spot and he looks just like his avi.

Chief, I actually spent a lot of time talking to him. Great guy. Easy going and the type of person you feel like you could not piss off no matter how hard you tried.

Unfettered. I wish we had spent more time talking. I can tell we would have had a lot to talk about. Hope the movie was good :)

Missemma. awesome. smart assey and great. Once again, I wish we had more time to talk, but when we did, I really enjoyed it.

landlord. Really great guy. Looked like the youngest member, but I might be wrong. Super nice GF who was very patient while we all did our thing. He seems very smart and genuinely happy.

Readmermaid. Could not be sweeter. Except for when she was harassing me about taking my pic. :) she would not stop. Next time, I am wearing a mask. Seriously just sweet to the core.

Ripple. Once again, I did not get to spend as much time as I would have liked, but there is no way you can dislike ripple. He rules.

Brewzz. Happy, smiling all the time. Just a all around nice dude.

gagabout. Super nice. Great guy.

Andy. This guy tirelessly spend almost the entire time helping mike out. He was at the table when I got there and was in mike's room helping take boxes to the show when I left. He was answering questions, selling and watching. Great guy and I am sure mike appreciated his help.

Oh Vic. Vic holds a special place in my heart. Some of the reasons will not be discussed here. She rules, and I was very thankful that I finally got to spend some quality time with her. She is smart, funny and even just the right amount of bratty. She is fantastic.

CB. Exactly what you expect, but smaller. I did not realize how tiny she was. Oh yeah, I own you for the two slices of pizza :)

and of course Mike. Now, I have spent enough time talking to him that I feel like I know him already. It was nice to finally do it in person. All I can say about him is this. You should have seen how excited he was when talking about his swiss machine. He was like a little kid at x-max. :)

The show. Honestly, that part I could have done without. The room was so filled with vapor that it was almost too much. I will say this, and I am not just being a fanboy. Mike's table was mobbed from start to finish. I literally got to the room as one of the first people and even at that point, the crowd was insane. I felt sorry for the table next to him as they literally had nothing happening because of mikes table. It never stopped in the time I was there. Mass chaos. I walked the room, but to be honest, there was nothing that exciting. Saw the usual "vaping celebrities" walking around or peddling their wares, but the best parts were when I would just hang out with everyone.

Long trip. Very glad I went. It was a honor and my pleasure to have met all of you. As I said in the post earlier, you are warm, caring, funny, extremely bright and just a all-around wonderful group of people.

Except for Rat and Tony of course.

See Jon, I am not as nice as advertised :)

disclaimer. sorry if I missed you. It does not mean I do not like you........

Yeah, but I did give him that handy dandy standard remover.

Handy Dandy? That sounds painful, can I has one too? You never know when you might ACCIDENTALLY sit on a pv that you left in your chair, or bed, or just waiting at a light stuck in traffic. These things just happen.

Two extra things. One, I did "steal" the prototype. I am a crummy thief, as I told everyone that I did it. The next morning, mike offered it up to me as I have so many different things to use on there, that he thought I would be the perfect person to beta test it. That and he knew how much tony and rat would be annoyed :)

The reason I ask is that I have one of the blue lines. I am not sure mike knows exactly what I have. In fact, I am sure he does not. I told him I would follow up as I currently have a bank balance with him :) I will let him know. I hope the missing one is the one I have and that in fact, one was not stolen.

OB... I wish I could have spent more time talking with you as well.
And honestly, I don't get where you could possibly think you were remotely disliked.
You are by far, one of the nicest people I have ever run across.

Jade, my daughter, is in agreement.
She just loved you.

Actually... she just loved ALL of you.
She didn't stop talking about you all the entire 5 hours home. (5 'cause we kept getting caught in traffic jams)

Every time she mentioned a name, she would follow it up with "I just Love him" or "I just Love her".
And, just so you know, she has "claimed" a good lot of you as "hers".

And at that, I have to thank all of you for making her feel welcome and like "one of us".
That in itself impressed her more than you know.

And I just Love all of you too!
My only regret is missing telling Mike and CigarBabe bye.

Not painful.
At least not to me. LOL
I posted a pic of it a couple pages back.

While I'm not a Zen user, wanted to say thank you to everyone at the Zen table at vapercon. Had a pleasure talking to a few of you (thanks to Miss Emma) and you all are a most excellent group of people. Special thanks goes out to Ms. Readmermaid, it was a true honor to meet you and hang out with you. :)

Morandir, I just wanted to say hello and tell you how happy it made me to see your picture with MissEmma, Gator and all the old friends and new ones! You seemed to be having a wonderful time!

Yes, the Zen people are a great group!

:)
