Hey gang. Thanks for all of those who offered help on my ZAP yesterday. Turns out it wasn't a problem with the ZAP at all. The Provari had a buildup of gunk on the positive pin that must've solidified a little after sitting for a while thus insulating it. All of my Cb checks and Ao checks liquified it and it was able to work again. Cleaned the Provari and all is well with the world. Now, I have read of people putting their SS hybrids (Standards & Minis) in the dishwasher. Given the difference in construction of the ZAP, do you think it would be safe in there?

No don't do that...and Mike has even said not to put your Zen Hybrids in the dishwasher. There are some plastic parts that isolate from ground issues and heat does get quite high in a dishwasher.

I posted the ProVape approved way to clean the ProVari yesterday.....high concentration of iso alco.....well I haven't posted that much I don't think so just peruse my most recent posts.

I do not think I would do that with the zap. morning.

Neither would I. Just rinse the exposed parts if you want to clean it. As long as there isn't crud built up throughout the center post/spring/pin, you shouldn't have any extra resistance and no need to disassemble it.

Morning everyone. I did NOT want to get out of bed this morning. I can already tell it's going to take all week to catch up on sleep.

Lol, I was telling Pais about "Richard" from SF, she was like, "another D!ck from the west coast?" It was hilarious.

OK, just to be clear, before I go posting pictures. Who doesn't want their faces online? I'll have to get a little creative with photoshop to replace those faces with butts and boobs and other random things. I know ob, vicsan. What say you Brewzz? You don't want your up either?

Also, chief, I'm really bummed I missed you on Saturday night, you were solid. PM me so we can get each others info and hopefully set up a playdate in the near future.

I don't care. I don't have any outstanding warrants, that I'm aware of...

My sidewinder fires with the insert in place, but don't with a kick in it.It might be my batts, some are well used, some are fairly new(all AW IMR's,got a few more charging right now).I'm weeding out the old ones,it seems even with a full charge, they don't have enough oomph under load to fire the kick or provari mini with a ZAP.
Or could it be that the kick compartment is anodised and the kick is not making a good ground?I have read that anodised aluminum is not the best conducter.

youre right I heard mike say that on the vc SW's you do have to scrape some of the anodisation(?) off of the kick compartment and it should work great.

I think I figured out the main problem with the cobalts and the ss switch that people have been doing shows the issue. If you unscrew the screw from the button you will see that it is andonised inside there which leads me to believe the major point of contact for the negative is not getting a good solid connection. But I am sure zen will figure out exactly what's going on and let us know.

There's a little more to it. Mike is planning to have everything needed to install the kick available shortly. You can try to install the kick after removing the anodization but I seriously doubt you're going to have much luck.

Morning ian, chief, and ob. I had a good time keeping busy this weekend but I hated that I didn't have more time to chat and hang with you guys. I don't function well without sleep :( Glad to hear you guys had such a good time, it was really cool getting to meet you guys in the flesh. Such awesome people in this thread.

Good morning Zenfidels!!
I’ve got to say that I was a little apprehensive about going to Vapercon, since I don’t tend to function very well in large groups of strangers, but it was all for naught, as the Zenfidels in attendance welcomed me like an old friend (once they realized I was ‘Brewzz’, not ‘Bruce’).
It really was great to meet so many of you in person, so I can place faces and voices with your posts. I can honestly say that I didn’t meet one Zenfidel that I wouldn’t be proud to count as a friend.
OK, rather than going on and on, as I have a habit of doing, I’ll just go with this;
It was a great time, very little sleep was had, and I’m already saving my pennies in hopes of being able to make VF!!

The only time I didn't see you at the HoH table was right before we left on Saturday night. You really worked that booth like a champ. it was definitely a trip meeting you. I love that you got the kicked sidewinder up and going! I'm looking forward to doing the same. At the con it was my first chance to try a ZAP and VV. Holy crap! I had no idea what I have been missing. ZAP at like 4.5 volts blew my mind.

I think kicking my sidewinder will give me a very similar experience and I can't wait to get it set up. Or get my hands on a ZAP/provari mini. Hmmmm, all I have to trade is a Caravela and ZAU....I might be able to make it happen :)

Thanks man, likewise. I knew Mike needed the help so I did what I could. I was NOT going to leave VC without that thing firing. I'm really glad we got it going, too. With regard to the provari+zap, aside from the sidewinder, those are the only pv's I own for that very reason. I had been using nothing but standard sized provaris but since I've picked up the mini, I'm definitely preferring the smaller size so I may end up getting rid of my standards for a couple more minis.
