I think it's time to introduce you guys to what one of my main hobbies are. Studying this mans life and picking his brain.

By far one of the most intricate and genius producers ever. This era is filled with drummers that started their career because this mans music inspired him and he wasn't even a drummer. He was just a dude with a beat machine.

Happy Monday.

Dilla was always a problem. Probably the sickest guy of his generation in that style. See also Madlib. Nowadays it's 9th Wonder. The ultra crate digging stuff was Dilla's wheelhouse and he left us WAY too early. He was a destroyer of the highest order.

I agree, pesky. Dilla, Madlib, Preemo and Pete Rock are the kings in my eyes. Alive or not, they own me. 9th is dope but I prefer early 9th with the Little Brother project. Now a days 9th is a little too much for me.

There's a few heads coming up that we should all keep an eye out for. For instance, Marco Polo. Dude just got signed to Duck Down and is doing some nice things.

Good lord I love Hiphop.

And Boards of Canada tho.. Very good choice.

I totally agree about 9th. I was working at a large publishing company when he was first coming up and our A&R was looking at him - not really sure why, since his stuff is so sample heavy, and if have a playlist of like 50 of his early instrumentals that I still listen to 10 years later. Such fire.
