The Great Society was created in or around the same time as Jefferson Airplane and both being from the bay area they all knew each other and played a lot of the same venue's. It was only after Signe Toly Anderson dropped out of the band that Grace became the lead vocalist of Jefferson Airplane...

Deb...I was fortunate to see them at a concert many years ago...The lead singer( can't remember his name...blame it on old age..) came prancing from the side stage, no shirt and tight jeans, plopped down on the stage Indian fashion and proceeded to sing , with a huge spotlight on him. I was totally mezmerized!

Still my favorite Led Zepplin song..
