Boy this page loaded quickly!!
I know why- no videos on it yet.
One reason I don't come to this
thread very often...
Last year, lightening struck our house and video card in my computer somehow got zapped (all else was fine)...
I swapped it out for an older/slower one sitting around and have never upgraded it...
Really, my whole computer needs upgraded- need to
buy a new one but dread all the transfer of software and my files...
Anyway, I typically come to this
thread and it will take over 5 minutes for the screen to unclog/unfreeze- just takes to long for a page from this thread to load w/ all the videos from Youtube...
Back on topic- Leon Russell- one of my favs- seen him several times. In my days of stealth recording, I taped him when he came to Knoxville and played at the old fair grounds here... turned out really nice and actually ended up transferring it onto a CD... Also used to tape Traffic, Grateful Dead (at least 50 shows), awesome Col Bruce Hampton, Steve Miller....have an incredible recording of Dave Mason from the 80's (I was sitting 10 feet from him and he didn't know I was recording- that one is also on CD and still enjoyed)... Sting when he opened for the Dead...let's see- Santana... a few of Dylan, basically I have over 1000 cassette tapes lining my downstairs office closet. These were all I either taped myself or traded for with others...just no one uses cassettes anymore and it's a real pain to transfer to CD but I have for a few that were very special... Um...have a really nice recording of Doc Watson (may he rest in peace) from the Bijou Theater a few years ago.... I don't remember if I've rendered that one to CD or not- but I should. Btw, I do not sell any of this- exclusively for personal enjoyment or for others to enjoy- may/used to trade for all kinds of other musical goodies. Just been to busy to be into this any longer. Story from Bonnaroo 2 years ago- finally had upgraded to all digital equipment- no more tapes but data cards... after recording the first night, my equipment was stolen (and this was in the guest camping section)...was really devastated losing about $1000 worth of good stuff...and haven't touched recording live music since- just go and enjoy the shows anymore. If I really wanted to find these shows, they are typically available (or at least a show from that tour) from Taper Dan's or other download sites...
