Not for a 3.7V box. The problem with the irfz48v is that it requires at least 4 volts to guarentee a saturated MOSFET gate. Even if your running 2 batteries, if one of them fails, it will fry the mosfet. There's a reason why he posted this and stated a specific part #. Yes others should work do to specs, but this one does work. The problem is these things like to be on, or off. Anything else and it turns the MOSFET into a resistor, and POP.

Just tried it with the Evercool, and it works like a charme

I've watched the entire vid


And I've noticed that this guy said that this circuit (the same as raidy is using) take about 1 volt from your battery source, I mean he has 4 AAA 1.2V batterys or 4.8V, but the TS takes 1 volt from it, leaving only 3.8V for powering the atty, so my question is: What about if I'm using only a single 18650 3.7V Lion Battery? My voltage gonna low, cuz 2.7 it's not enough to make my atty run like a champ.

The IRL3103 has a RDS on from only 12mOhm = 0,012Ohm.
The maximum Voltage lost when your atty need 2A is only 0,024V.
When you say, that only 2,7Volt are on the atty, then you have problems with contacts or battery.
I belive, that your AAA batteries cannot power 2A. I' shure!
Make the same voltage test by shortcircuit the FET between Drain and Source or hold the battery direct to the atty

I think you didn't understand my post, I'm wondering if there's a lost of voltage or not with your circuit, that's because the guy of the video said so, but I just get 2 of those IRL3103 from the net, and I don't like HV mods, just the easy ones (one battery). And I'm not using AAA batterys, I'm using a single 18650 3.7V. But thanks anyway.

I was concerned about this also after seeing the same video. Testing showed that there is no appreciable drop in voltage using the part raidy specifys. Try it by measuring your battery then fire the switch and measure the output. They will be very close.

I've just checked the circuit in a proto circuit table, and it's working soooo great hahahaha, I didn't take pics but the voltimeter thing or whatever it is mark 4.2V, I think maybe it's a new batt, but who cares? ahahaha, I'm so happy, it gonna lasts almost 3 days 'til voltage drops, I'm not a heavy vaper (never smoke cigs, so I'm not hooked to nic), I just enjoy flavors hehe, my new hobby/adiction.

Hey guys, would it be possible to also use an LED in this design ? I`m no electrical expert but I`m guessing that taking another wire from the "switched" (right hand side in raidys diagram) side of the switch, running through a resistor to the + side of the LED, and just running a wire to ground from the - side of the LED would be OK ?

Very old thread, old video. The box in this video uses this same diagram for the touch switch. Just wanted to post and say thank you to Raidy for sharing the idea.

Hmmmm.
That looks like a good way to make a 2 stage fire button to make a device more pocket friendly.
Instead of a master on/off switch, put the touch sensor where you would normally grasp device.
