Hi, I am new to vaping. First of all, I got a Sub-Ohm mod with a few e-liquids as a beginner, I have never vaped or smoked before. So my 2 e-liquids were:

1) watermelon, canaloupe, honeydrew & bubblegum
2) cookie, banana and cinnamon (Main one vaped first)

Me being an idiot I started vaping in the wrong way, I inhaled too much and probably incorrectly. I have heard about using sub-ohm is very dangerous if you dont know what you are doing. After 3-4 days of vaping, I decided to quit again. Now 4 weeks later Im now having breathing problems where I can breathe in fully.

Now researching this on the internet was not that great as there are so many stories about how people get ill / sick from doing this. As said above, using the sub ohm is dangerous, also apparently flavours such as cinnamon is extremely bad. I spoke to the vape shop and they said that there are no known toxic chemicals found in the liquid.

Please can someone get back to me as this is causing me a lot of stress as I keep on thinking I have lung problems due to vaping. Thank you!

I wouldn't even start vaping. No need to get yourself all stressed out if you never smoked. Just don't do either. I don't think your getting good information about vaping, but if you think you may have lung problems you should see your Dr.

Stop stressing and call your Dr. and get a check up. I am not a Dr and cannot diagnose you on the internet.
While vaping is at least 95% safer than cigarettes it is not 100% safe and you should have researched vaping a little bit more before beginning - not after the fact. I use vaping to quit and stay from cigarettes and have had no problems after vaping for over 2 years.

if I was you ... I would quit while I was ahead.

However, I come from the "Quit Smoking Era of Vaping" ... and I still don't get "Hobby Vaping"

Oddly enough, this forum is getting hit with many "Never smoked but starting to vape" questions.

The main answer is ... why are you starting?

Look into mints and fidget spinners if it's a question of needing stimulation.

As far as danger go, again, weird questions all around with plenty of answers available.. but simply, no, it's up to being considered 99% better than cigarettes, and there's still not a single research to find ANYTHING of any risk. (after 10 years)

Anything you're heard about risk and danger is just propaganda, nothing else.

If you're not able to do it without coughing, then just don't. One doesn't need to vape to try and be cool or anything.

Side note: And it's not sub-ohm that's dangerous, it's people that use mech mods and/or don't respect the batteries and Ohm's law that make that part dangerous. With regulated mods, the bad scenarios are 1) if you use a crappy battery (so look up info about batteries, brands and such) and 2) bad settings where you'll burn your coils. Look for Temp. control, start at low settings and increase as needed until you reach your comfortable level.

Maybe I sound like an old fart and I don't know if you ordered it but to me any shop that pushes a high powered device on a beginner are not responsible.
Sorry, but being a big fan of personal responsibility, I cannot agree. If I go to Home Depot and buy a chainsaw that is too much for me to handle safely, it is not Home Depot's fault.....it is mine.

Im not wanting to come off as argumentative, but before smoking cigarettes was considered "evil" many of us started and kept going even though it made us gag. THe anti-smoking campaign has been going strong since the late 60's and was going strong with the black lung slices being paraded around the high schools all through the 70's.

Mainstream media is comparing smoking cigarettes as a comparative to everything that is bad, evil etc. I saw an ad for one of the new "standing desk" things, It said "sitting is the new smoking" what does that mean? If you sit youre a stupid idiot that deserves to be struck with all the scourges of disease that the universe can throw at you? If youre a smoker you deserve every cancer they can throw at you?

SO now that cigarettes are the worst of the evil things on earth, people who were drawn to smoking dont want to be demonized, so they are choosing to vape. Many of us did not have a choice, now there is.

Of course its easy to say, dont be stupid, just dont start..... C'mon.... remember ? YOUTH, its a hard enough time to go through, and many look to something to lean on. and yes, it could be worse.

So now to the decision and the learning curve. Cigarettes, easy, you in haled, you gagged and either never had another or decided the nausea, gagging, pain in lungs, throat was worth it. You kept it up, smoking is dry and hot.

Now with vaping it can be very pleasant, but if beginners dont know what a "normal" inhale should be, they wont know if that harsh hit is because its either high in nicotine, or too much PG, or too low of a resistance etc, or if its not working right, dry harsh because of a short, not enough liquid, the dreaded dry hits. They just continue to vape on it... THats the danger in it. Breathing in burnt cotton, is not good.

Seems like no one wants to "take it slow" and now that vape shops cant actually teach or let customers try out , its going to be hard to educate.

When teaching or educating the "new" tell em, start with a little puff, dont inhale, etc.

here's the difference ... operating a chainsaw has not just become the latest fad with today's youth trying to look cool.

chucking big clouds, whether they know vape safety or not, has become that dangerous fad ... nobody is looking for the latest hobby chainsaw.

I do believe chainsaws come with detailed safety instructions ... mech mods and batteries, not so much :smokie:

Not so much irresponsible as greedy I'd say. They know they make more profit on liquids than hardware. It makes sense to them to sell juice guzzlers over something that will make 10ml last a few weeks.

P.S. has anybody else noticed the similarities, not only in content, but posting style, wording & phrasing between the OP & our other never smoked vaper friend?

I'm gonna take my chainsaw to all tanks made by Smok.

Let's re-balance the natural order of the world. :D

Either that, or I really am phoning Dan, Sigourney and Bill this time.

No need to, they appear to start leaking on their own.

You actually have made an excellent point. I was ready to blow this person up about not doing it, but I would rather have a new informed vapor than a new cig smoker on the planet. I started smoking at 14 and if vaping had been an option I would have taken it.
