My journey to 0mg was unplanned. In the beginning, I ordered 18mg juices and 0mg juices. I planned to start at 18 and slowly dilute the 18 down until I went to 0. But in my first few days of vaping 18mg, I must not have vaped enough because I went through terrible withdrawal symptoms so I thought, what the heck, I've already suffered this much, I might as well just go on to 0mg. And so I did and have been there ever since. After 25 years of smoking, I still need that hand to mouth action so I will keep vaping until that need dies off (or doesn't, lol).

Under Down Under
I went down to 0mg very quickly - too quickly it seems. The brands I was using were 0mg, 6mg & up. I found myself struggling after doing well for about 2 months. There weren't a lot of choices in flavours with those brands, and minimal TH at 0mg. Then I put in my 1st V4L order for 4mg and am happy at that for now. Will probably try again in the future.

I started at 8, went up to 11, not enough, up to 18, then up to 24, now am back to 18 and holding. I'm almost 4 months with no smokes, hoping to drop in future, but don't want to take a chance at going back to smokes. With my next juice orders, I will probably try to go down to 11 and see how it goes. To me, it is so amazing to be analog free when I never thought it would even be possible, I don't want to screw it up

Yay someone like me (Mmc)!! I thought I'd be the only one who posted that they increased instead of decreased. When I first started I didn't know about ECF so I didn't know all of the tips and tricks. I started with the overly expensive mall "high" which was a whopping 8mg. Bought 50ml of 5mg from another vendor online. Bought some 14mg and 18mg from other vendors. I couldn't stay satisfied and eventually went back to cigs. Started again around March 1st of this year, determined! I was using all my old juices (mixed the 5mg to make 12mg) and still smoking cigs on the side. I bought several 18mg flavors to get me started and was still struggling with cravings. Finally I bought some 24mg for my husband because he wanted to give vaping a try, he was a PAD. I never thought I needed to go to 24mg because I smoked 5-10 a day and have read stories on here of 2 PAD 30yr smokers having too much nic at 18mg!! But I tried his 24 and it was PERFECT!! We went through the 6ml I bought him pretty quickly and I'm waiting for the second order to come in (will be another week probably). So 24mg is my happy spot and I have 18mg to keep me company throughout the day. I'm going to bump up my remaining 5mg to 24mg and I'm hoping to find another one I will like a bit stronger. Good luck on your journey to 0!! I still haven't decided if I want to do that or not, I like nicotine :)

Harmony, you're not alone. I've had to increase, as well, although I only use higher levels for strong cigarette cravings. I still use low or no nic juice and cartos to chain vape. I pretty much vape everything 0-36 mgs, depending on what time of day and how strong my smoking urge is. Everyone is different.

I will say, if I use 36 mgs, I usually only take a few drags, maybe 4 maximum.

My first order was for 18mg, and that was a good start. It has only been 2 months and mostly I vape 11mg, because that is what most of my juice is. I still have 18mg juice, as well as 8mg juice. my plan is to slowly continue to drop. I am not in a big hurry, I am just happy to not be smoking. All future purchases will be at 4mg for new juices, and 0 for re-orders so that I can mix my higher mg juices.

I have no desire to stop using nicotine. My research has proven to me that nicotine itself is harmless and probably beneficial for stress and other things. Nicotine is in a lot of vegetables. I think it's safer than coffee. It has become a word associated with the dangers of smoking, but unfairly I believe. I wouldn't talk anyone out of not using it, but I like it. It's not that big a deal. I think 75% of the smoking addiction was hand/mouth inhaling and blowing smoke anyways (and all the dangers were from smoke and other chemicals), so the ecig wins all the way around. I recently read a report that the ecig is safer than the patch. BTW, the way I feel TODAY about staying on nicotine, like anything else, is subject to change. If that happened, I'd ween myself off it like any other detox method.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I'll be sticking to the 18s for now, at least until this semester's over. I do go down to 11 or 8 at night so I can sleep, but I see what you're all saying about the TH at the lower levels. I find myself sucking harder and longer (insert Michael Scott catch phrase here). I've also had to cut my coffee consumption down now that the cig chems aren't making me a lethargic mess all day long.
