How do you know when a cart is running out?

NightNurse, I have a hard time with knowing when, same as I am terrible at overfilling my cartos. :) Maybe it would be a good idea when your goodies come in, to take a couple of cartomizers, pop the white end cap and the rubber Oring out of the end. Then use one of the rubber end caps, poke a hole in it and slip it over the carto for a mouthpiece and that way you can easily pop that off and see what is going on with the batting of the cartomizer.

And you'll know what they are supposed to look like when properly filled as well. I flew by the seat of my pants with this for a long time and still cannot really tell that easily when it's time to change or refill the cartomizer unless I can see in there. The vapor production does not fall off for me, so that didn't work for me.

When the batting starts to look white, then it's time to top off. This probably sounds harder than it is since you don't have your stuff yet. It's really simple.

Of course, other people seem to do just fine without doing what I do, but I wish I had known this when I first started because I prematurely ruined a few cartos before I started dong this. And yes, I am cheap. I want to get all I can out of those cartos before I throw them away.

That depends on how far down you vape it. If it's completely empty, then you can get about 1ml in there and that's appx. 30 drops, I believe, also not all drops are equal in size. Or you can use a syringe and measure up 1ml and squirt it in. I did that on some that I rinsed and blew out and it worked really well. I let them set overnight and blew them out again, the next morning before I refilled.

There's a happy medium of wetness with the cartos, not too little and not too much. If you can get it just right, then they vape like new ones on several refills, esp. if you get the magic carto that is like a little energizer bunny.

Edit: Also, you can just add a few drops to top off from the battery end. I've found that 4 drops is golden, but you have to keep doing this and I wouldn't do it with an auto batt. or auto passthrough. If I add more than 4 from the batt. end I end up with leaking problems.

What size/gauge needles work best? I can umm... borrow a few from work... ;)

What do you rinse your cartos with?

Thanks

Larger gauge needles for the thickness of the juice, I've heard 18 gauge mentioned quite a bit. When cleaning I just open the top, take out the o ring and rinse under hot water, blowing through the mouth end to force the water and old juice out until it looks/smells clean (usually only about three or four times) then blow out the excess water. Dab up any water on the outside and inside edge with a paper towel and refill. Some let it dry longer.

it took me a bit to get used to 'how to tell' other than time limit and things like that. i get, no matter what flavor i'm vaping, this strange... metallic/rot like taste. and an even worse aftertaste. if it's a fresh batt i'll still get good vape off it, but the taste is just definitely... off. especially when it comes to the aftertaste part upon exhaling.
