I was wondering how everyone vapes. I saw a post where the user said they vape 3 times a day for about 45 minutes each time. Maybe I'm looking at it wrong but I try to vape like I smoked. I went outside to smoke so knew that a cig lasted about as long as commercial breaks on tv so I timed my vaping that way to start. I also knew that I could smoke a cigg between the gas station and home so I would vape during that time. I also vape differantly too. Iused to smoke fast if I was nervious so sometimes i take a few quick vapes and other times when I wanted to relax I take long slow vapes with some time between the hits. I layed down almost a 2 pack a day habit over 11 weeks ago. The urge at times to have a tabacco cig is still there and when it hits I grab the mod and hit it. I have gone from 24 mg down to 12 mg in the 11 weeks. I think this is the level I will stay with. The wife was a exsmoker and she has been using 0 nic since she started vaping over a year ago. I thank her for "making" me switch...LAUGHS:)

Sounds like you are doing what works for you. I don't think there is a 'wrong' way to vape. When the cravings come, just hit the ecig. I have my nic low enough that I can vape all day, if I want to. but curiously enough, I find I can go for hours and not have a hit. Everyone is different, so just go with suits you.

Good luck and congrats on making the switch. It's the healthiest thing you could have ever done for yourself...

All personal preference. I, conditions permitting, take a drag every 3-5 minutes throughout the day. A co-working (using the same gear) puffs the he** out of it about 5 minutes out of every hour (like his old cigarette breaks). Another just grabs a puff randomly throughout the day. Whatever keeps you comfortable/happy that's the one to do.

I'm just like you..I still only vape where I smoked (outside or in my garage, except my garage smells WAY better now!) and sometimes I do the quick drag thing when my nic fits are crazy or nice, slow, enjoy the flavor drags. I was kinda at first worried I was doing things all wrong because if you watch YouTube vids, some people take super long drags. I figure, I didn't ask people how they smoke cigs when I first started, I just kinda learned (unfortunately). I think vaping works better slow and steady.

But kudos to you dropping nic level already! I'm still stuck on 18mg but have been trying 12mg for heavy vape nights of drinking/socializing.

I started out at 24mg and have weaned myself down to around 6mg (which is pretty darned close to my target of 4-6mg). Some days I go through around 5ml of juice, other days I'm a perpetual fog machine and suck through nearly 10ml. Whatever works for you and keeps you happy with your progress is good. There's really no "correct" way. It's very individualized from person to person. :)

Similarly, started like you but now vape several times a day when I'm off from work and during breaks when I'm working. I dropped nic levels to 6mg now and it seems like it's my comfort zone....eventually will drop to 0 mg.
Smoking analogs "to me" was an addiction, but vaping is an enjoyment. :vapor:

Congrats to you both!

I think in the beginning, I needed to be careful and not let the nic levels get too low in my body. If I let it get below a certain point, I would end up with craving a cig. I treated vaping with the same concept as the patch. A steady influx of nic. In a way, I still do but with a lower nic liquid.

I take a hit or two, set it down or just hold it. Read, type, whatever...pick it back up, take a hit or two. Repeat... At this point, I can get super busy doing something and the time flies, then realize that I haven't hit my PV in a couple of hours. But I don't get that CRAVING for nic like I used to when I smoked. Just a gentle I think I need to hit my ecig, and a few hits, I'm good again.

Everyone finds their own groove in time. I think the key is to not let the nic go down so low, in your body, you get that craving. Once that happens, it takes ecigs longer to fulfill the craving than it did for cigarettes. Smoke particles are smaller and more efficient at delivering nic to the body. The vapor has larger molecules and don't absorb nearly as efficiently. If it took you 7 minutes to smoke, it takes about 10 - 15 minutes of vaping to effectively get the nic into your system.

If you hold the vapor in your mouth, you will absorb more nic. Mucus membranes absorb nic quicker than your lungs can, because of the size of the molecules.

Sorry to get all technical.

I generally have my PV sitting in my shirt pocket. If I'm just sitting around I'll grab a puff or two every now and then/when I feel like it and then put it back. Sitting here at the computer it is quite often in my hand while I type/whatever. Have three bats set up - chocolate/mint, desert ship, and a ATTY vaping various other flavors. A couple of puffs off of one, put it down and a bit later a few more puffs off that one or a different one. I'm still working on my coffin nail/nic addiction so I'll vape at 24mg first thing in the morning then 18mg rest of the day..
