How does an APV check for ohms

Noob question here. How does an APV check the resistance in ohms? Do the tanks have some digital communications with the apv (unlikely) or it somehow can sense it just sitting there?

Some APV's like the Provari transmit a small amount of current through the coils, and it can figure out the coil resistance based on how much of this current is used. You'll notice when you check the resistance of your tank with the Provari, it will lightly fire the coils while checking.....

Good reply...pretty much the same way ohmmeters have done it for years. You don't measure ohms...you infer them.
