My goodness Major that sounds dreadful and dire. When you bring it up I just instantly want to know more, its hard to hang out in these forums with out being curious about other peoples lives.
Didn't mean to make it sound dire my friend. When you lead a life as active and exciting I must admit as I have gotten to live, there is always the fallout after effect. For me it's simply that I was injured in an on the job incident in 1982 in the spine.
I managed to work full on and enjoy my career another full 21 years after before I became less capacitated than "normal". I have no regrets and wouldn't change a thing. Every day is a gift and I wont waste one. As to my accomodations, I know for a fact there are several less out-spoken users than myself that have similar situations.
If I have stumbled on something that might be useful to someone else that isn't very mobile, I like to share it. The GG family is so diverse in almost every aspect commonly mentrioned (age, race, ethnicity, culture, etc.) that I know I for one love to hear from others how differently and many times more efficiently they live than I do.
But again, nothing dire at all. Just life being well, life.

I think we all have 2 traits in common though and that is for most, 1) a habitual personality and 2) a love to tinker and try to be creative with our GG's. If anything, the things I don't think a thing of that may sound horrible really are not. I would even go so far to say that having to find new ways to accomplish life long tasks keeps the mind alive.
I have had several dear friends and former co-workers or partners retire after I did that simply weren't ready to cope with the drastic change and they didn't last long. Having been
thrust into it at a time when I did not expect it made me have to scramble to keep up. If anything, that gave me a leg up on my peers. I fought my way (literally and figuratively)
through a 27 year career. Continuing to be faced with new challenges keeps the juices flowing. I have absolutely no complaints!
