Some companies have banned smoking on their property altogether. Some places, still have designated smoking areas outside. I am only allowed to vape in designated smoking areas where I work. I really don't have a problem with that and do respect my employers rules.

However one manager told me that vaping is much more dangerous than cigarettes and that he heard that people should never take more than 3 puffs on an e-cig in a 24 hour period. That is totally wrong and ridiculous! Respectfully I did inform him that there is a lot of mis-information out there and that everything I have found on the subject is opposite of what he has read or was told. Naturally I was not able to convince him.

So what I am asking is this. How does your place of employment view vaping? Are you allowed to vape at work and where?

I'm a contractor, and most of my work is at a power plant, factory, or on a base, so I have to maintain a professional appearance, especially since it's a family business.. If I'm working with a company that knows me well, I will vape outside..

I vape at my desk with a fan on, and stealth vape when no one's around on job sites.

I work in a studio with a bunch of youthful hipsters - 90% of the "smoking" crowd vapes, so it's hardly a novelty. We do this outside in a courtyard, not because we're banished, but because it's a chance to be social and take a break. If it raining hard or we're under a tight deadline, we puff at our desks without issue.

My company would never allow me to vape in the office due to not being informed on the difference between vapor and smoke. I don't really care though, out of respect for non-vapers, I go outside and vape during break time. Probably a good thing because I'm a graphic designer and could easily vape my face off all day in front of the comp.

As far as general ignorance on the dangers of 2nd hand vape… it's frustrating as hell. I've heard on 2 occasion people referring to the vapor as "poison gas". Both times, the person was older and out of respect I just pocketed the mod and carried on.

I work in a small metal shop as a project manager/drafter/waterjet operator. Typically in my office downstairs (where my desk is), there are a total of 3 of us. Upstairs there are three more people.

My General manager sits across from me and has no issue with me vaping in the office. That being said, I also vape when walking around the shop too. Noone cares, and is actually delighted that I'm not smoking cigs.

I've been at this since Sat, it's now tuesday.... :)

I work at a retail store I can vape inside for now. I leave mine in the back room and only hit it once or twice while I'm back there. Compared to a 10 min break every hour to 2 hours. So I believe that is why nothing has been said. I have been told the new handbook says no ecigs inside the store.

My work actually has ecigarettes listed with tobacco products as not allowed on property. The definition of an ecigarettes is pretty ambiguous so I am sure if I fought it I would lose and they would just update the handbook again to ban me. It's fine, as we cross the street and never say a word. My boss doesn't care and is happy I am off the cigs and when it's balls cold out we vap in the lower level of the garage and no one says .....

Kanger mpt2, Aspire Nautilus, burn with iTaste MVP2 and some Evod vv's. I prefer darker heavy flavors.

I'm really glad I found ecigs. I am an over the road truck driver and I smoked way too much and when I started vaping I vaped the entire time I was awake but after awhile I have noticed that I'm doing it less overall throughout the day than I did ever smoke. I got one of my trucker friends to go digital and he said that the same thing happened to him. I believe it has to do with the lack of an obvious end in the beginning. With smoking the cig will burn out and that's when you know it's done. Anyways, I'm off topic, it is also a big safety thing to in my job because if you are hauling hazmat most types require no smoking within 50ft. The drivers seat is only about ten ft away from the cargo and that counts too. So I can vape no matter what the case yay!

This post was found in an ancient ruin, possibly left by aliens.

I haven't even asked my employer what they think about. I just continue to vape outside the same as when I did analogs. I work as a software developer and we have robotics and medical equipment on site. I don't even want to think about the issues that might come up if an auditor / client takes issue with it. Not to mention, I really have no idea if or how it would affect these devices.

They probably wouldn't care, but I'm happy to do it outside and get some fresh air.

I am currently working at home as a freelancer... my co-workers (a dog, two cats, and a bird) all approve of the switch from tobacco and do not object if I vape in the house. I do keep a window partially open, just to be careful.

But I am seeking a day job, and when I get one, the main thing I want is for no one to know I do it at all. You can't pull that off as a smoker, even if you're never seen doing it. I'm in Utah so smokers (and by extension, vapers) are just the ultimate evil crude rotten people ever. My nicotine habit can be none of anyone's business... I like that idea.

I work in a law office. Our managing partner was the one who brought the whole "it's too cold outside to smoke, you should get and e-cig" up. Everyone asks me why I'm still going outside like I always did. It's because, while it's allowed now, I don't want a client to see it and get the wrong idea and then it becomes banned. As it is now, if I need to do it inside, I am not banned from doing so but I prefer not to.

I'm in the Automotive industry, I can vape in the shop area as much as I want. I can't vape in the office, they have a no smoking policy for the office only. No-one smokes or vapes but me, my employer is happy I quit smoking. But you should have seen his face the first time he saw me hitting my ecig. He thought it was something else, lol.
