You must be pretty good at it. I've watched seasoned "pros" at my local vape shop make coils and wicks and it takes them at least 20 minutes start to finish. I'm not here to argue with you though. I can only speak via my own experience and observations of others.

Well I'm not what you'd call a seasoned pro when it comes to building coils. However I will say that once you get a certain style build on a certain atomizer down it really is pretty quick. It's just a matter of getting to know the atomizer you're working with (imo). From start to finish it takes me 7-10 minutes to get my Kayfun set up. But the first time I did it it took longer just because I had to figure out exactly where to put it in accordance with the air hole, how high, etc.

In all fairness to comparisons, my experience has been limited to Genesis-style RBA's using stainless steel mesh wicks. This part is admittedly time consuming IMHO. I can see how drippers and Kayfun types are easier and faster.

I have 0 experience with Genesis style RBAs & the main reason for that is I have no interest in dealing with the intricacies of the mesh. I'm just too lazy a vaper for that kind of nonsense lol. I, for one, am very very thankful there are more toppers made for silica/cotton wick builds. There was a time when I thought if I ever wanted to get into rebuildables I'd HAVE to use a Genesis tank. That's one of the reasons I didn't get into rebuildable tanks for a long time. It's so nice that vaping continues to evolve.

I have a small army of genesis type atties, they are sitting in my vape box all cleaned and put away for vapageddon. I loved cartotanks and protanks because of their ease of use and I had found a way to get consistent performance out of them. They just "worked".
Fast forward to the time I ordered a kayfun clone just to see what the hype was. I love that thing, still use it today. I have several now, clones, real deal, Russians. Love them things. Most of my ADVs I can run 4-5 tanks through without changing the cotton. When I do I wash the thing, pull the old cotton, pulse the coil a few times and rewick with cotton then refill. ~5 to 10 minutes, some of the coils are over a month and going strong.
I bought an Aqua because of the hype and its a dual coil kayfun thingy. It is hard to build on with 48 year old eyes and large hands. It only holds 2 mills or so of juice.
It is cleaned and waiting with the gennies.

You have to try a Kayfun, just to say you have. IMO the better clones are indistinguishable to the original in performance. I favor the Russian 91 over them all, but that's just my preference, adjustable air flow without removing the atty from my device is awesome.

And yes I use them on my Provari, that has never been cloned. I also use them on my MVP and my mechs. :)

Oh, and buy the way.

How is this not a clone, at least in general appearance, of the Provari?

...partly due to the [ProVari] being presented as perfect in every way and any dissenting voices as heresy.

Not long ago I started a thread (and I'm sure there have been others before mine) in the ProVari section, asking what people would like to see in a version 3..

Guess what? Plenty of ProVari owners responded with multiple improvement ideas, oftentimes over-lapping.. To me, that suggests that it's not "perfect"

Yeah, there were a few who said they wouldn't change a thing.. but I believe a couple of them chimed in later after reading the discussions & said they, too, would like to see A, or B, or C in the new version

After I ordered mine, but before I received it, I created a thread that I did so, but with several gripes/hesitations about it right off the bat without ever seeing one in person.. Guess what? Most of that stuff disappeared after I had it in my hands, that I had prematurely & unfairly blown them out of proportion -- and one of them surprisingly even turned out to be a positive attribute in my eyes...

After using it that 1st day, I did discover one new gripe/negative about it.. I've found a way to work around it, and it's fairly common issue even among other APV's due to a fast-changing & ever-growing industry.. Would be nice if they were to improve upon that aspect in a version 3, but would not be a deal-killer for me should I get a 2nd one someday

It is not a perfect PV -- there is no such thing

But there are some pretty awesome ones out there.. :D

Everybody just needs to chill a bit. If a Provari is the be all and end all of devices for you that's cool. I get it. It certainly has its good points that cannot be denied. Other devices have their good points that cannot be denied no matter your personal feelings. We all have choice in what we can or wish to afford and grow fond of.

I recently bought a Provari after only using one on loan for awhile quite some time ago. I said I wouldn't till it was updated but I caved. My opinion hasn't changed. It's an excellent device and that cannot be denied. But there are other excellent devices. I own some of them and can compare them directly vs. just reading what others have to say.

I started out with a basic 510 pen kit and with all its shortcomings it got me off of cigarettes. I'm just happy to see all the advancements and choice in the equipment available today. The absolute best device is the one that you have decided is best for you for whatever reason. In the end we're no longer smoking. That's a good thing.

I like large mods.. the Provari is dinky.
I got the Vamo because it's the longest thing I could find.

I keep looking for something longer.. like a night stick length.. or one of those really long flashlights.
I got the VTR because I liked how heavy it is. and it fits my jeans pocket well.

Someone needs to make mods for us big guys.. if I close my hand on it and nothing sticks out.. it's just no good.

Sounds like you need to get yourself an E-Huge in dual mode :)

Havnt seen any 26650 clones, reo or DNA20/30 clones either... Pretty damn annoying since i would want to buy one of each xD

Saw on Vapor Joe's that the Hades has been cloned. No news on where to get it yet.

I would sell my jack rabbit for a cheap aluminum Reo clone. I don't understand why china hasn't done it yet. I wouldn't want to see the REO cloned, only because I want to support those mods. I think they are well made, I like the price for what you get, etc. I wouldn't mind a clone of the bogger box bottom fed, or whatever other nice bottom fed mods are out there. But I'd buy the ReoClone if it came out.

Also, I can't stand cartomizers and carto tanks. I hate them. If I hadn't spent so much money on those damn cartomizer tanks and cartomizers I would have a nice collection of rebuildables right now. But, they did get me started in vaping, so thats a good thing. But damn I hate them. OH my carto is flooded... Let me do X, Y, Z, A, B & then C to get it unflooded. OH, my carto just burned. Now it'll never vape as well as it vaped before it burned! Great! I only use rebuildable dripping atomizers now. I have no need for a RBA tank. I carry a bottle of juice and my RDA with me and I'm completely happy all day. If it floods, I press the button til its not flooded. If it burns, I just add juice, and 5 out of 6 times, it vapes better than before it burned. lol. Cannot take cartos.

& yes, I can rebuild in under 10 minutes. Sometimes, it takes 20-30 minutes if I screw it up the 1st or 2nd time. But I usually do well the very first time, which takes less than 10 minutes. & I use thin wire... 30g. So I cannot reuse my coil. Each rebuilt coil lasts 1-2 months, and then I rip it out and rebuild. No need for thicker wire and replacing just the wick at this time. I think that'd be a nice perk, but for now, I don't have a problem with the length of time I get out of the disposable thin coil + cotton. Sure beats the 4 days I got out of a 3 dollar cartomizer. I can almost buy a whole new RDA for the price of 1 tank carto, lol.
