I'm not talking about naming names and showering praise, however well deserved. And I'm not talking general importance in your life.

I'm wondering about importance during the time when you quit cigs or reduced the number. How would your early move to vaping have been for you without a forum like this?

This forum provided a strong sense of engagement, even inspiration, for me early on. I probably could have survived without it, but it would have been a lesser experience in every way. That's why I still hang around here sometimes. So what about you?

Honestly? If it was not for you guy's, I would have never found out the "Vapor King" I ordered was a fake from another place, and I probably would have never ever vaped.

This place is still important to me, but in a different way... I like helping the new guy's and gal's that come through here every now and then, it makes me feel like I am making a small difference in their lives.

I assume you are talking about the V4L forum specifically....... The ECF became an obsession for me when I was quitting. I don't know what I would have done without it. It didn't take me long to find the V4L forum, though. I credit this forum with steering me to a product that I like for a reasonable price (better than reasonable, lately!) that is truly backed by the company that sells it. This is so hard to find these days! The common theme I kept reading about was customer service and everyone was right. It saved me from more consumer heartache than I had already experienced.

The social support, technical advice and expression of opinions was just icing on the cake. It made it easier to keep away from the analogs, definitely. I noticed that it was easily one of the friendlier forums, too. Things get a little lively sometimes but quickly get back to normal........ just like normal "offline" relationships. I guess the fact that everyone is so accepting of one another here is what kept me coming back.

Extremely important!

Having a community of like-minded people was a major factor in ending the analogs. It would have been too easy to tire of some of the strange comments (you still smoking that fake cigarette? ...and other great hits) early on in my vaping career, and go back to analogs just to not hear the negativity.

Knowing a bunch of people (albeit virtually) who "get it" is priceless to me! :)

I'd already tried 5 brands before engaging with ECF. I did find ECF early on, but I found it very confusing: so many different brands & types of e-cigs being pushed by their devotees, and all the vaping lingo was rather off-putting.
As V4L was one of the two brands I was deciding between when I was looking for my 6th brand, it was then that I checked out the V4L sub-forum. People here were so friendly, helpful, informative & fun, that I went ahead & ordered my first V4L stuff. I was struggling with vaping at that point, and V4L products helped me through. Without this forum, I might have tried yet another brand that wasn't satisfying. So although ECF put me off the whole vaping thing in the beginning, V4L sub-forum saved me.

Without this forum I'm not sure I would have been successful in my vaping experience. I lurked around ECF for quite awhile, then the V4L subforum. The comments about the great products and customer service, and the info in the Welcome Mat, etc. helped me to make an informed decision. V4L is the only vaping product I have ever purchased, or tried for that matter. When you have success, with the best product, there is no need to look elsewhere. I tell every person that asks me about vaping to check out this forum because it is full of all kinds of helpful information. Couldn't have done it without this forum. Thanks, guys/gals!

    here's my brief story...

i was at a technical (geekfest) conference that was at a hotel that "front-ended" a mall. during one of my romps through the mall I stopped at a kiosk and got the usual sales pitch (and of course the whole "ok I shouldn't do this but I will give you a "special" deal and let you have the starter kit for $99"). I hate doing spur of the moment purchases that cost more than $5 lol. so when I finally got back to my room I started searching the 'net for e-cigs. I found ECF and was totally inundated with TONS of info....so I lurked and read for like a month trying to figure out what exactly I would want to purchase. after all of my searching the V4L subforums kept drawing me back since there were all the raves about customer service/support. being in IT I of course am a stickler for support just in case something goes wrong (ever call Dell and get someone who can't speak English?) so I purchased the Ultimate Ultimatum Kit and was very happy with my purchase. (of course the very first thing while my batts were charging I thought I'd hit the PT a while until they were ready...let's just say I coughed up 2.5 lungs :D). but long story short if I hadn't found ECF & the V4L subforum I likely would never have even purchased a it. but for the most part I owe a great big thank you to the mall kiosk that tried to rip me off (irony can be a wonderful thing :D)

I found it immensely important to me from the support angle - and from the pure entertainment of it! It really helped make quitting fun by being around other helpful and fun loving people doing the same thing! Love this place!!!!

When I first became interested in ecigs it was because of a internet ad for 'smokeanywhere' I bit and ordered their 'free' trial. It was not a good product when I finally recieved it and fought them like crazy to get my money back. Ended up with a good 510 kit and was pretty happy cus I had quit the cigs in two days! But I was growing tired of the constant dripping when I found this forum.
People were so nice and helpful here! I got a V4L kit and since it arrived my 510 has been retired. I really don't think I would be a happy vaper without this forum and all the great people here and that includes the V4L crew :)

Well, I'm still noob, but here's my take:

I had no idea this place existed when a friend showed me her V4L stuff, and emailed me some links and suggestions (I don't think she knows about ECF). Very much out of character for me, I just went to V4L.com and placed an order. Usually I search all over and probably would have found ECF.

After my kit arrived, I dug around on V4L.com for documentation (I'm actually one of those who usually RTFM first). Buried deep somewhere is a link to ECF and I followed it here. Had I not found this place, I would have likely bothered V4L folks with questions, or simply not asked them for worry I'd be wasting their time (they DO have a business to run). This place is great because it is consumers; consumers are better able to share the REAL scoop than employees who must tout a company line. Believe it or not, I sometimes hesitate to ask questions even here, because I'm sure they have been asked/answered many times before, but it is comforting to know you guys are here because you WANT to be.

You guys have made me feel welcome, and spurred my enthusiasm. You've been there to answer questions, or at least offer opinion. This forum has fast-tracked me to doing the right things, and taking risks that I would not have taken (and have paid off).

I actually spend more time here than on FB now. (I guess I should start publicizing my profile here, but I've traditionally left FB to personal acquaintances only)

And don't get me wrong: every interaction with V4L folks has been great, I just worry about being a nuisance (in almost every aspect of life).

Thanks JEFFREE for starting a cool thread!

Try not to worry about that. I've not only asked questions that have already been asked, I've actually repeated my own questions  The people on V4L are especially good about answering questions over and over. Except "when is XYZ flavor going to be in stock", no one seems to mind. And even that gets a helpful response from SOMEONE

I'm not really sure how I found V4L. I was determined to find an Ecig company I could trust and after three unsuccessful attempts I FOUND V4L. What a relief. And hey, these people sure know how to treat you and make you a lifetime customer. And these forums? I am a daily reader and have learned from the bottom up right here!!! and here I stay!!!
