I am probably a rare case. I have really only ever vaped 3 "flavors". I started on a straight (tobaccoless) menthol carto. I then started mixing strawberry and a straight menthol. I finally ended up at just a plain Wintergreen (with cooling agent). My wife likes other flavors such as mandarin orange, bubblegum, etc. and I have tried those and may on rare occasion vape it but for the most part I have stuck with just those 3 flavors over the course of nearly 7 years and Wintergreen has been my all day every day for at least the last 3 of those years. On the bright side though, having only one flavor makes hardware easy. I only need one mod and one tank.

Without my flavor would I go back to smoking? Probably not, but I might go back to dipping Skoal (Wintergreen of course).

Personally, flavors have not been important to me --- in fact, it was quickly moving into DIY and using unflavored that was most important to my early success. I do use and enjoy flavors (at minimal levels), but almost entirely tobacco flavors (and menthol).

A minority position I am sure, and I fully support the availability of a full range of flavors both for current vapers and all the potential future vapers out there who may never tansition under a far more limited selection (which, sadly, is the true goal of flavor bans).

I was a dual user for 6 weeks. Over that time I noticed my palette changed in favor of the eliquid flavors and against the taste of cigarettes. Finally cigarettes tasted wretched. If you gave me a magic pill to make me immune to tobacco harm and an unlimited supply of free cigarettes I'd turn it down. Vaping is an entirely superior experience. No other quit smoking stratagy can do that.

I'm in a minority but I've Always been a tobacco guy and most of what I vape is a tobacco of some sort. Yet when I started vaping, it was the thought of all the flavors which got me interested in vaping. It was fun to switch up from tobacco to some type of fruit. Them flavors kept me going to the vape shop each week to pick up a few more 10 mil bottles to try. That's what got me into searching the web which lead me to the ECF. That got me into the hobby aspect for a while which kept me interested. So while flavors aren't really my thing, they were somewhat important.

When I started vaping part of the process was finding just the right flavor to keep me interested. I tried tobacco flavors and quickly realized they didn't resemble cigarettes and threw them all away.
I don't think I'd keep vaping with only Tobacco flavor. I'm not sure about unflavored since I've never tried it. I pray I can vape it and stay away from the cigs. But even if I can I'll miss my flavors.

(1) how important flavors were to get you off of cigarettes when you began vaping
Instrumental. Couldn't have done it without them, seriously.

(2) how important are they to you today to keep you from returning back to smoking?
Unimportant. I rarely vape flavors these days. But I strongly support their legality!! They're so important for new vapers and many (if not most) converted vapers.

Absolutely amazing that people would go back to smoking w/o flavor. Y'all wouldn't even try unflavored first?
It's not about us. We can figure out how to make flavored liquids. Food flavorings aren't going away.

It's about those who haven't made the switch yet but may want to some day. Unfortunately, it looks like they're screwed come next May in any case.

When I started vaping I used "zig-zag" e-juice at 18mg. It was bland (I didn't know it was unflavored) but it worked. Then a friend gave me some flavored juices (he had broke two devices from dropping and just gave up) I really liked the blueberry but it was only 6mg so I mixed it with the unflavored... worked great and I enjoyed vaping much more. Then I got some Naked tobacco juice and loved it. Now I have two tanks... one with fruit, custard, ect. and the other with tobacco mix. I switch up several times a day. Funny thing is I was recently wanting to add some menthol to my tobacco mix. So, yes... I need flavored juices (I DIY now anyway)

Dessert Flavors were critical in getting me away from smoking, so critical in fact I'm not sure I could have quit smoking using tobacco flavored ejuice.

Quitting for me was likely one of the most difficult things I've ever done in my life even with vaping, but the sweet flavors were like a treat, a reward for not smoking.

My first three bottles of ejuice were cinnamon roll, tiramisu, and cheesecake. The cinnamon roll came through in the vape so well, and I liked it so much it became my adv for years, and I still vape it more than any other flavor, although I'm branching out more now..

Without the flavors making vaping instead of smoking a reward for toughing out the withdrawals, and making the taste of cigarettes just seem gross, I find it doubtful I would have successfully switched to vaping.

As far as how important flavors are now? The flavor of tobacco makes me want to vomit. If tobacco was the only thing available I'd DIY (I already do mostly though) because I can't go back to the flavor of tobacco.

I was stressed out when I walked out of the ER last month and wanted nicotine really badly and I had stopped using nicotine a year and a half ago and took a drag off my husband's vape and the taste was sickening to me..

yeah.. not doing tobacco.. at all. Can't. I can't even figure out how I managed to smoke that crap for 32 years I hate the taste so much now.. lol.. and I'm certain flavors have everything to do with that change of heart..

Apart from bettering my health, flavors were basically the main reason why I chose vaping over smoking. For me it also played a huge role as I started smoking as a way to cope with anxiety and my over eating. So having flavors and thinking about that helped me reduce cravings, and obviously stop smoking.

I was just going to bring this up. I saw a video of some "old men" trying vaping for the first time. One of them was wearing a "chef" type clothing. He made a comment that this would help people with over-eating... vape the cherry pie instead of eating it.

Well, I mostly vape tobaccos. I do others too. So flavors are important for me but not critical.
unless ry4, cherry pipe tobacco, sandalwood tobacco...etc. are counted as flavors.

While I do not know for sure, I would guess that Ry4 would still be allowed but probably not the cherry pipe tobacco since it has cherry in the name. Sandalwood might be OK as well, who knows really?

Flavors were somewhat important to me at first, I started out with RY4 and cappuchino flavors. After a few months, I realized that when my sense of smell and taste returned, I got so I would get overwhelmed by the flavors or bored with them, so began DIY'ing.

Now I vape mostly non flavored eliquid, and occasionally will add a few drops of a flavored mix in for some variety.

Flavours are what put me off vaping the first time around. Its a pita to find a good five juice rotation to prevent vapers tongue. The logistics were bothering me.

I then DIYed, not half bad at it, but i didn't have much imagination. In general, I was a bit worried about all this artificial flavouring that I try to avoid in my food. And then inhaling that?

I did my research and decided flavourless would be the way. And oh my gosh, a nicely steeped, flavour free juice with the nicotine just starting to oxidise (thank you for that knowledge ECF) is just the thing I was looking for.

Everyone has their weak sides though. As a treat I sometimes buy myself 10mls of a desert flavour ready made juice. It's lovely and I'm happy it's available.
