So, I started this venture Aug 27th, haven't picked up an analog since! I'm a 40 year smoker, my hubby is about 36 years (he quit for 9 years then started again)...so we've been REALLY wanting to quit, I have but he hasn't....(he has tonight so far)...that is just a background for you....we never smoked in our house...in the garage or on the porch....SO, when I first got it I too was conditioned 'not in the house'...then got over it QUICKLY....

I'm on my computer in our living room/kitchen (open floor concept) and I'm vaping away, he comes up the stairs eyes flying WIDE OPEN and yells "NO SMOKING IN THE HOUSE!"....I looked up from my computer (ya know the look over the rim of the glasses glare) and calmy say "i'm NOT smoking i'm vaping"....LOL....and then he sat and watched me for about 5 minutes and monitoring the 'vape' and giggled and said, hey I guess your not...so HE has had to 'break himself of the mind set' as well.....

Well, little does he know that AFTER he falls asleep, I'm running for the kitchen, grabbing my 902 and back into bed I go...hee hee hee....vaping in bed...how COOL is THAT????? AND SAFE! And as I'm getting ready for work....doing my make up and hair...YEAH ME! With my coffee!

LIFE IS GRAND....so....he quit tonight...how long before I wake up, walk out to the kitchen and catch him sneeking on my 902????? LOL....

How do your spouses handle it?

My hubby quit cold turkey June of last year. So I got the ecig, and he wants to know "so how long you gonna use that thing?". Um, well, as long as I want. My intention was not to give up nicotine just the smoke. I still smoke 3 or 4 analogs a day, which is far better than the 1-1/2 packs a day I was smoking. His concern is that there is something toxic in the vapor. I can't seem to convince him that it is safer. Its almost like he can't really wrap his mind around the fact that it is safer. And I'm, not good at explaining either. I get frustrated, shrug, and continue vaping.:vapor: I need some of those cards I've read about people handing out....(need to research where to get some info I can print).

My boyfriend and I both smoked. He ended up quitting in April with the nicotine patches successfully. He hasn't had a cig of any kind since then. I went on the E cig in June and haven't had a full regular cig since.....the one time I tried it kinda made me sick. So right now I vape, he does nothing, but he does take a drag or two off mine every day. So far it's working good.

My boyfriend and I have been together for seven years. Not quite a spouse, but dude needs to put a ring on it.

I began vaping in august, and now I have a Little Sister coming to me in the mail, I've recently started DIY, and I'm getting into PIFing. I've also gotten my mom (who lives in NY) into it as well as a few friends in town.

My boyfriend is that weird type of smoker who can have one or two a night or no cigarettes at all. He's been that way the entire time I've known him. I always walk up to him with my pv and go "Try this one" when I get new flavors. He doesn't mind at all that I vape. He's proud of me for doing something healthier, and I do it in the house! We also don't get into those arguments about smoking in his car anymore, thank god. So yea, maybe it's helped my relationship. He's discussed the idea of borrowing one of my 510 batts sometime to go hang with his friends, and he really likes tobacco-y flavors like RY4. He just doesn't like a lot of sweet. He's also weird because he doesn't like to sit and vape for a while, he likes to take one or two hits..just to "see how that one tastes"
He also used to say, " have you actually saved money? How much has everything cost you so far?" I just explained that eventually I'll stop being so excited about all the new things I haven't tried and save money. I never smoked more than 2 packs a week, so yea, I've spent more on vaping in the last month than I have in the past year of smoking. The upside is that I'm done buying for a while. I just really went all out...it's like a hobby for me.
Lastly, Vince is a woodworker in grad school for furniture design..I got him into the mod building side of this...We're going to build a mod with a guy from the PIF group that falls into the vein of the phidius woodimus, the REO and the R+R mods. I'm pretty pumped, and glad he's a woodworker.

Like Jurassica Parks my hubby could take them or leave them---in the last few years that he did smoke it was only when he played pool with his friends, said it was the only way to survive. He hasn't done that for about four years now so he is very happy that I now vape---so are my kids!!!
DH actually makes the Mods (I did make one) and I promised no one would ever smoke in the house or car again as long as he kept making them.:)

My hubby quit smoking about 15 yrs ago. He does not vape. He is thrilled that I am no longer smoking. I vape in the house, in the vehicle, where ever & when ever....he does not care.

He mentions every once in awhile that that is a strong tobacco, or that smells like burnt cookies, etc. But that is all he ever says.

He has been very supportive of my quiting cigarettes and the transition to vaping.

My boyfriend still smokes. :( He's actually the one that got me started researching e cigs because he'd heard about them, but I was the one saying "I heard those are bad for you and I don't think you should get too excited." So anyway, I started doing some reading, found this forum, realized how wrong I was and 3 weeks later ordered my first PV.

Both of us were really excited about the idea and so after my first successful week I thought he would be ready to order his own kit. Unfortunately, he saw, in all of my excitement over my new hobby, the kitchen counter turn into a science lab and he decided it was too much work to try. (Kicking myself for making it look complicated when it's not!!!)

I bugged him about trying a PV for about a week and finally decided I needed to keep my mouth shut because by bugging him it would only turn him off the idea even more. He is very happy for me and tells all of his friends and family how wonderful this has been for me, but still won't try it for himself. I also think he gets a kick out of trying to guess which flavor I'm vaping by the scent.

My one ray of hope is the other night he said he was going to bed early because he was almost out of smokes and didn't feel like going to get any. I told him one of these nights he's going to give in and use the e-cig *evil laugh*. He said he's seriously been thinking about it lately. Tonight I hit the 1,000 analogs not smoked mark, and I think I saw the cogs in his head start to turn a bit... Maybe someday...

Good luck mookieb.

My wife smoked when we first met but quit within the first year so I figure 9 years now?
Been nagging me for last 6-7 years.
She seems very happy that I quit, but has once or twice made the when do you quit using this thing question.
Her main concern is residue, should you be doing that in the house, it smells funny...
Still has those concerns associated with smoking.

Being the good experienced husband I am I ignore her.

My husband still smokes. He has quit several times for up to 5 years...this time he is having a real tough time. He WON"T use any of my PV's...I just keep my tongue....but he is supportive in that he never says anything about what I buy.

And I just about go crazy when people say "So, when are you giving THAT up ?"....worse than "When are you going to quit smoking ?" ever bothered me...
