How long before you reach the "this is it!" moment?

I'm coming up on my 9-month anniversary and I'm STILL trying to find that perfect setup. How long before you settled in and had everything you needed/wanted for the perfect vaping experience every time? Or is that even possible?

Today was awful. I was about to throw all my gear into the nearest snowbank. Clearos were leaking my cinnamon red hot juice all over. Tried it in my GotVapes Phoenix bottom coil and rebuildable Stardust. Leak city. I looked around here on ECF and discovered that cinnamon juice doesn't get along well with clearos. Great. So the cinnamon will have to go into my Volt carts, which don't really bring out that wonderful flavor like the Phoenix does. Sigh.

I've got a 1000 mah and 650 mah Ego passthrough and love these, they're my dependable workhorses. I've also got a 78 mm Volt, which is nice for dressier occasions, so I'm planning on continuing with that. I think of it more as an accessory than a great delivery system, though.

It's dependable, no-leak, large-capacity, easy-fill clearos that I'm looking for. I've come close with the Phoenix, but it doesn't hold much and it's a syringe fill. But the flavor and vapor production are awesome, so I'm definitely going to keep buying these, even with their shortcomings. I go through 3 to 5 ml per day, so it's a lot of fiddling around. Seems like I spend all my time cleaning, reassembling, and filling.

Before you suggest the Kanger T3, I've got those and am hugely unimpressed. I was so excited to get them, too, thinking those were the Holy Grail. Yuck. Muted flavor and blah vapor production. I won't be buying those again.

I've decided that I hate the stardust-type clearos. Doesn't matter which juice I use, they leak like crazy. I've had enough of carrying a tissue with me everywhere I go so I can clean the battery every 10 minutes. So those are off my list. I prefer the cooler vape of the bottom coils anyway.

I'm SO SICK of spending money looking for the right stuff. I DIY my juices, so that's a great money-saver and I'm having fun with that, but I've still spent way too much on this.

So I'm down to Volt cartomizers and the GotVapes Phoenix bottom coils at the moment. I hate to think this is the best I can do.

What's the secret? Or does it really take up to a year to find your groove?

I am only 2 weeks in and I am really liking my vivi nova and ego twist. It hasn't leaked on me yet and I can vape on a tankful all night. I am still fooling around with finding the right juices in the right ratios of pg/vg, but I know I will get there. I have spent close to $300 already so I can understand your frustration with the money aspect. I am just a newbie, but I would try a nova or a carto tank. I think the important thing is to keep it up and remember everyday you are vaping instead of smoking is a great one.

I started with Volt cartos and then switched to S.I.’s X2 leakomizers. When I started using the first version CE3s, I thought they were perfect, but I soon got tired of using a syringe to fill them and wanted something with more capacity.

For the past three months, I’ve been using T3s, both Kanger brand and whatever brand S.I. is selling. They’re not perfect, and there is definitely a learning curve with them. Once you learn the little tweaks to make them work good, they’re real dependable, easy to use, and low maintenance.

Not sure that I'd want to to be honest. She's probably had more visitors than the Statue of Liberty :)

Ha, I like alot of her stuff from the 80. I'm musicly eclectic tho. One minute listening to Motley Crue, next minute Tori Amos, then Bob Marley, you get the point heh.

Variable voltage lets you adjust the voltage to your juice, vaping style etc. Some like a warmer vape while others prefer it cooler. You can dial it in to get the flavor and vapor production you want.

The biggest advantage to variable voltage though is the one thats least talked about and thats regulated voltage. You know that awesome hit or two you get off a fully charged battery? You get it all day long with VV.

For your cinnamon juice, you'll need glass or metal.

My preference is Smok 1.7 ohm single coil XL cartos alone or in a tank. Now, mind you there is a learning curve with tanks, as there is with anything. You already probably know the ins and outs with cartos. Things like finding out how many holes you need in your cartomizers for the tanks. Learning how to punch or slot cartos, if you don't order them already with the proper number of holes. The Smoktech tanks come with a dual coil carto, usually. Boge F16 tanks are good, too. For glass tanks, there are a number of vendors. I just bought some at IBTanked, which I like very much, but I was not fond of the cartos I got from them - have no idea what brand they were, but the flavor was muted. I never get muted flavor from the Smoktech or Boge cartos. The Boge cartos have an airier draw. I prefer a little stiffer draw I get from the Smoktechs, but the flavor is terrific, regardless.
