How long did it take you to despise the taste/smell of analogs when you started vaping?

I never smoked another cigarette after the day I got my ego starter kit. That said, I do not mind the smell of cigarette smoke, unlike many others here. My niece smokes, and she can light up right beside me and it isn't offensive to me at all.

Maybe my sense of smell is not so acute as others, even though I haven't smoked in over 3 months. Cigarette smoke is just another smell in a whole world full of smells to me.:)

I haven't smoked since the day I started vaping either. For the first month, perhaps, I liked the smell of cigarette smoke. The second month I found it rather disgusting, and by the third month I could tell if anyone had smoked when they walked into a room, and smell it on the street if someone was smoking! I hope I never become a reformed smoker, and I do vape with smokers - but I find the smell rather disgusting - which is ironic for someone who smoked for 40 years and obviously smelled like an old ashtray for that long...

I vaped and smoked concurrently for about a month; during that month, my smoking steadily declined, as I deliberately began substituting vaping for more and more of the times when I would normally smoke. The less I smoked, the worse they tasted; the last 3 days, when I smoked only 1 cig a day, they tasted like burning road tar. My first smoke-free morning, when I had been smoke-free for 24 hrs, sure I craved my usual cigarette... but the taste of the last one, the day before, made me just keep vaping, *knowing* that it tasted a lot better. At that time, it would have been very easy to just procrastinate one more day, one more week, etc... but I had discovered how truly awful they tasted, and just couldn't excited enough about that road-tar taste to really want to go taste it again. I shudder to think what they would taste like to me now, after 6 wks without one.

Within a weeks time. I set aside a week to make the transition. I had one last pack that I was going to allow myself during the transition. I vaped as much/frequently as I desired, and when I felt like I still needed an analog, I allowed myself HALF of a cigarette. I put it out and saved the remaining half for next time.

Those remaining halves of a cigarette started tasting pretty nasty, which helped me quit. By the end of the week, I was enjoying my vape much more than the cigarettes. When the pack was finished, so was I. I haven't had more than a draw of a cigarette since. Two years this month.

I did let my batteries drain down about a month later. Didn't believe I could wait for the cigalikes to recharge, so I went out and reluctantly bought a pack of cigs. (Learn from this: backups for your backups!!) Tried smoking a cig on the way home from the convenience store. It tasted terrible and made me nauseous. Threw both that cig and the pack of cigs away. By that time my batteries were already re-charged and I could enjoy my vape.

I believe it was at this time I was convinced to advance up to a mod which would give me an all day vape on one rechargeable battery. I bought both an AltSmoke Silver Bullet for home and an AltSmoke BB for out of the house.

So true! But, it still took me two days to put them down. And, every day I feel that way, I am, quite frankly, amazed
It is quite literally a miracle that I've come this far. Nearly 300 days without a smoke, and now so fussy over my mods and atties, and the high-end quality of vape I insist on; so pernickity about the flavour. To think about ever going back to smoking... well it would be a heck of a downgrade, so much so that I'll never smoke again. And they worry about the theory that e-cigarettes might act as a gateway to smoking.... <shakes head>

When I'm driving down a street and some pedestrian a hundred meters away is smoking, I can smell it! Nasty!

Nicely said and pretty much describes my own feelings about the smell ;)

About 4 days that I know of.

Stopped analogs when I picked up my starter kit and my battery ran out 4 days later while on the road and I still had analogs on my passenger seat.

Needless to say I lit one up and tossed it out 2 drags later it was so disgusting.

And I've smoked 1 1/2 packs a day for 13+ years. It's crazy
