It's taken me months to quit. I used to smoke 4 packs a day! I had tried to switch several times, but just the PV just didn't take. I was using a Joye 510 that I got back in December. Then I was ordering earlier this month, and bought a 510 LR atty. And couldn't believe the difference it made! I finally was getting real throat hit. Over the course of this month I've been steadily cutting down.
Now I still smoke an analog occasionally, but no more than 6 analogs a day. I let myself do it to feel like I'm not living under Marshall Law or anything. But, I really don't crave it anymore. In fact, I much prefer the non-tobacco flavors. Here's a couple of tips I've seen that might help you:
1. Experiment to get the best throat hit with your equipment. For me, I get the best flavor when I use my 510 passthrough cable with a standard resistance 510 atty. So, say I'm
vaping Peach Cobbler. That's where I get the best flavor.
But, if I'm really having a tobacco craving, I smoke Dekang Cuba Cigar off my standard 510 w/ an LR atty and Delrin Drip tip. Believe it or not, the drip tip improves the throat hit without the poly-fill of a cart getting in the way.
2. Try menthol flavors. When I first went to quit, I had never been a menthol smoker. But, when I vaped Dekang Nport it felt like I was getting away with something. Plus, the menthol adds a "kick" that seems to quench the crave. You'll get off the menthol in no time. I have 3 bottles of Nport that I'll probably never use, because now that my taste buds have bounced back it seems way to strong.
3. Last one I can think of. Amass as many flavors as possible. Buy yourself off with flavors that are too good to pass up. I'm finding right now that the
juice I like the best is from gourmetvapor. My favorite flavor is "cinna-mint-thol". It's 40% cinnamon, 30% peppermint, 20% menthol, and 10% nutmeg. Just enough mint and menthol that it hooks my taste buds AND gives my nose a little bit of a tingle the way the analogs used to.
Hope this helps. And, like a lot of people have said so far. Don't be hard on yourself. Quitting is hard. I know -- I've tried 20 times before this and not succeeded. A couple of analogs a day won't hurt you, and you'll soon find yourself saying "this is sillly".
