I have had my e-cig for just over a week now and was smoking about 1-3 smokes a day but yesterday I ran out of smokes and am not buying a new pack. So today is day 1! Least I will have my e-cig when I do get a craving. I am feeling good right now but am afraid things will take a turn for the worse shortly. Any words of encouragment or advice?

Don't put so much pressure on yourself, the change will take place as you become more comfortable with your vaping set up. Make sure you have a juice with a high enough mg to yield your Nic cravings as well as a quality ecig unit that produces a good vapor. These two things are the biggest reason for failure in my opinion and if you have what your body is craving as far as your Nic mg goes along with the quality ecig you will be fine.!!!

Congrats on making the decision to give 'em up! I have found that the best way (the one that worked for me), is to take a couple of puffs every few minutes until your cravings stop. I have also discovered that fruity/sweet/minty (just about anything other than tobacco flavors), make the transition more fun. like the difference of wanting to and needing to, humans tend to do what they want rather than what they need. Don't make it a chore for yourself; and if you do decide to "fall off the wagon", just drink some water shake it off and get back on track... do it because you want to!

Hi, lyrical!

My words of wisdom are these:

Make sure you're drinking plenty of water. Vaping is dehydrating!
Don't be afraid to try new flavors. You never know when the odd one is going to end being your favorite or make it easier to stave off cravings.
Don't be afraid to bump up or bring down your nic level. If you find that you still crave cigarettes, bump it up a bit. If it seems to be making you feel ill, bump it down.
Vaping is a personal journey that takes a bit of experimenting before you find your "sweet spot." Enjoy it!

Congrats to you! :)

I agree with Khan. I have tried a few tobacco flavors and have decided that after having been off analogs (cigarettes), I just don't want that flavor anymore. I like the mint flavors the best, some fruits are good too. I smoked camel menthols at the end cause of the double menthol from the crush crystal in it along with the menthol filter. Super minty. I still get the cool feeling when I take a drag off my ecig from the mint flavors, which is the reason I smoked those camels anyway. So I still get the feeling without the tobacco flavor to ruin it ;) The best of luck to you and I hope you can kick the habit!

..... Any words of encouragment or advice?

Encouragement: A good pv helps tremendously. Also keep in mind some other things that help such as gum or mints or new activity- ie refocusing the mind on something else and so on. If you do break over, don't beat yourself up. Just declare that you'll not break over on the next one, but maybe the one after that. For every cig you don't smoke, celebrate your victory. For every time you break over, use the time to plan your next battle.

Advice: If time permits, just vape yer fool head off if that's what it takes. I recommend two levels of nic. One for the bad- I want to- and one that's a little lower and just make lots of fog with it. Drink lots of water, then drink some more water. Your body is going to start its detox and water helps. Once it starts, you'll probably be amazed at how fast things improve. For most of the threads I read, it seems to be much faster than quitting cold turkey even. My theory is that it's pumping more water through the system and that helps clear the lungs and so on. (I could be wrong, it's just a theory lol).

Congrats on making the decision and the very best of luck to you. Vape on. :vapor:

Totally subscribe this statement. Be strong, but don´t force yourself too much. Have good equipment and think how much better you´ll be off in a short time.

Congratulations. I think, since you were already down to 3 cigs a day, you'll do fine. My last pack ran out about a weeks ago. I was having a few a day for about a week, then went to one a day for a few days... when the time came, it was easier than I expected. Hopefully the same for you.

About six months ago, right after buying a carton of whatever cigarettes were the cheapest, I opened the carton, then opened a Flip-top box, took a cigarette out and smoked it. Put the box down beside my Lazy-Boy recliner, laid the Bic lighter on top of it. It's still lying there, untouched since that day. I don't even think about it anymore, but when I did I just grabbed my ProVari. Guess I just decided that vaping tastes better. JMHO

Cheers,
