1/2 hr to overnite. Just try having your voltage very low and taking little puffs to start.

I used to put mine in a tank dry, fill the tank, and blow thru until some juice came out the end. Overnite was Much better.

Why let them sit at all? Certainly not overnight! Fill them correctly and they're good to go. If they're tank carto's maybe take a few power-off hits once the tank is filled just to be sure if you like. I've never waited for some magical aging process once a carto is filled.

what's that fancy newfangled thing you're holding there, r77r7r?

i don't let mine sit at all. i prime them then get right to it. method doesn't matter to me. i'll use what's handy at the time. sometimes i'll fiddle with my thingy. sometimes i'll use the condom method. sometimes the drip and flick (thermometer method). sometimes the drip and twist or inverted drip and twist. sometimes... especially if i'm cleaning one out to change flavors and already have it out... i'll use a syringe and the plunger from myfreedomsmokes.

only thing that's consistent is i always make sure it's saturated and/or drips from the other end.

i'm not normally one for patience.

if in doubt, drip some more on the polyfill while holding your tank at a 45° angle. let it sink in, twist the tank and drip some more. an xl carto can normally hold about a milliliter or more of e-juice.

worst that can happen is a burnt hit if you start off at low power. if you start off too high, you can waste a carto and the juice you put in it. start low and work your way up if you're not sure.

There are lots of different ways to fill and prime cartos. I've been using cartos in one way another for over two years. It takes me a little more than five minutes to punch and prime a carto.

-punch the carto as needed (I'm old school and punch cartos with a Siam Mods V2 carto punch)
-wrap Scotch tape around the punched carto holes (a carto condom can work for some: they don't cover all of the holes for me)
-fill the carto with a syringe. The Smok XL cartos I use hold 1.8ml so I put 1.8ml into the syringe. The tip of the needle goes all the way to the base of the carto between the carto inside walls and filler. Slowly depress the syringe plunger while slowly withdrawing the needle soaking all of the filler evenly.
-let the carto sit 5 minutes turning it a couple of times.
-stick a long filling drip tip onto the carto and lightly blow excess juice out of the center bore.
    -remove the Scotch tape.
-install the carto into the carto tank and fill the tank.

I think I filled it right but am not sure if I primed it right. How long should it sit to be sure?No juice came out the bottom hole and I blew through it.

Are you using the carto in a carto tank, or by itself. If it's going into a carto tanks, no need to let it sit. By itself I would maybe give it 5 minutes or so.

I use the condom method & I let them soak overnight. Might seem a bit excessive but I've been burned before (literally) from only giving it a few hours & once you taste a burnt carto, you develop patience real quick lol. It might be because I use boges though, they have denser filling than ikenvape or smoktech.

You're right Bklynzfinest, Boge does have a denser polyfil than Ikenvape or Smoketech. I've never had to wait to vape but I do understand not wanting to burn the filler, ugh. I've never tried a Protank 1,2, or 3 so I can't compare a cartotank to it. I've never heard anyone compare the two actually, you're the first. The only comparison ever made to a cartomizer are the rebuildables or drip atomizers. I just don't wanna put out the cash to try another clearomizer for the sake of trying it out to see if it vapes the same as a cartotank.

I prime/fill and use right away. I never let em sit. I use condome method the fill from top and shake em down. Never have a burnt taste. I use laser slotted boges from surevapes and love em. Easy to tell ya got em saturated and they stsy saturated. Have ya got yourself a 'thingie' from ibtanked yet? Worked well too if ya wanna vape immediately after filling!!!
I've used protanks and personally I prefer carto tanks over any clearomizer. For me, they are just better!!! Less to worry about too!!!
