How long do you hold in vapor?

I recently received my eGo, for a first timer it is fabulous, perfect hits, cartomizers working well, everything is peachy keen.

My only question so far is how long do most people hold in their vapor? I figure it isn't damaging to the lungs so it shouldn't matter, but i am curious if there is a certain amount of time in which the nicotine is absorbed and if any longer is unnecessary.

I blow it out immediately. I believe most of the nicotine is absorbed through the mouth and throat. someone correct me if im wrong.

I too also blow it out immediately. Unless I'm sitting in my office, in which case I hold it in longer, and usually end up blowing no vapor out, so no one even knows.

Nicotine is actually absorbed better through the tissues of the mouth and nose, so hold it in as long as you like -- but for the best nicotine absorption inhale into your mouth and exhale out your nose and don't hold it in.

I don't hold it in very long at all - almost 0? Unless I am really needy for nicotine - then I might. Or if I love the juice and it's a new one or I haven't had that juice for a while - not purposely holding it in, just stuck in the moment.

I usually hold it in for a good 1 or 2 seconds, unless I'm chain vaping. If I stealth vape, I usually hold it in for a good 10 seconds, before slowly exhaling out my nose.
If you hold it in for long enough, the lack of oxygen might help get the analog feel to it.

i do notice more nic buzz when i exhale through the nose. i'd guess because the oils containing nic get all over the hairs in there and have more opportunity to be absorbed through the skin.

edit to add: Sorry i know that sounds strange but i forgot to mention that I make my own shampoo for my line of work and one of the main ingredients is gassoline, i highly doubt the irish spring is getting me dizzy.

I can see the Volcano being turned into a Flamethrower.

I hold it in till i get a little dizzy and then i let it out, i found that adding a little bit of shampoo to my liquid helps a bit.

That's really not a nice thing to say. There's noobies here that will actually try it out.

I dont usually hold in my vapor, unless I am in stealth mode, which I very rarely need to do as I am allowed to vape at my desk at work.

Interesting about the nicotine absorbing thru the throat and nose? Is there proof of this somewhere? I was wondering about this as a smoker asked me about the nicotine intakes, and I took my best guess that the longer you hold it in, the more you would absorb. Is this not correct?

I don't have a link, but I do believe it's true that most nicotine absorption happens in the mouth and nose rather than the lungs. This is true with smoking, as well (ask a pipe or cigar smoker!) However, nicotine is also absorbed in the lungs, just less of it.

Oh, yeah! It's not uncommon to get a good nic buzz, even to the point of being a little naseous, trying a new pipe tobacco. What I'm liking about vaping at this very early point is the delicious taste of the tobacco flavors I've tried without getting "hit in the chest".
