2 months, becuase i have been to lazy to order some kanthal, however its coming time to do it, i wanna try and wrap 32g around 26g and try that.
Don't confuse a micro coil with a nono coil. Nano is about the diameter of the coil, micro is about the spacing of the coils. Micro simply means that the wraps have been squeezed together.
A good coil will last almost forever, it's wicks that fail.
I've been using this one for 3 months now. The silica wicks are starting to darken, but the coil is still at the proper resistance.

Assuming you dry burn your coils and re-wick them every so often, do coils really go "bad"?

Geez, how are you people getting them to last 2 weeks?!
I get about 4-5 days out of mine before it just starts to taste like junk right after a re-cottoning..
I do a 5-6 wrap on a 3/32drillbit using 26 gauge..
I HAVE to re-cotton/clean daily and I dont even vape as much as I see some people...
My coils start looking rusted after 2-3 weeks and they make my juice taste burnt? I use 26ga Kanthal and cotton
You can get 100 ft of wire for like $6 on the eBay. Usually with free shippingEDIT: I do dry burn before I re-wick...I also tried cleaning with iso alcohol as well with no luck. I get about 4 cycles out of this before it starts to taste crappy.. I buy wire by the foot from my local shop so I really would to get the most out of my coils.. I just cant![]()
