30 days and counting on my atty for the penstyle (KB). Use heavy and pretty much exclusively with diy and other eliquid. Blow out and leave to dry usually at night. Only real precaution I've taken is to keep carts topped. Just got some atomizers from beci today and really like the draw but, will probably save for backup.

On a side note: has anyone done a mod for home use? I don't really care about the size since it will primarily be used at home. This way the protables can be used when you're out (at work or play) and a big heavy duty, easy to clean, replacable parts can be used at home. I envision something no bigger than a can of redbull. This way you can open the atty and clean the crust that builds up inside. If a part fails then pop the thing open, pull out the part, replace it then vape away.

My original 901 white atty is still going after 172 days, tho' the vapour is now getting a bit weak. I fear my trusty friend will soon depart to atty heaven  . I have had other attys, that I used for different flavours go after only a week. My first black atty still going after 150 days. I generally have 3 different flavoured PV's on the go, depending on my mood.
All told I have gone through 4 attys, if I include my original which is on it's last legs

The one atomizer that came with my Kick "Lil white" still working after about 6 weeks with heavy use the first 3 weeks and light use the past 3 weeks. I ended up buying a VK in case it died (Jane's been out of stock since I ordered it). Does anyone know what atomizer's might be compatible? I really want to keep it working as a backup (especially since supplies are getting tough to come by).

I've had the same atomizer for my supermini since I got it back in early Feb. I never clean it, but it does clean itself fairly often. I have set it upright to drain a few times but not regularly. The only issue I have is the charge life on both batteries has dropped dramatically to 1-3 hours instead of all day.

Well Mr Hoyle, I think that you're doing rather well if that is your only issue. Batteries die over time - it all depends on how often and when you charge them. If you've had your batteries since Feb without other issues - congrats! That's about as good as it gets - until you get a usb passthrough!

It's been over two weeks, maybe close to three now since I've gotten my 901 and 801. The 901 atty has never been cleaned and it's still working like brand new (and this kit is being abused the most). The 801 atties I've had to clean and alternate, however (I switch between 2 atties as a result). No atomizer has broken down yet.

Is it possible atty death is caused by overheating?

Is atty death more prevelent in self-cleaning models? How much heat does this cycle generate and for how long?

Letting the cart run dry, might be like leaving an empty pan on the stove with the burner on. Bad for the pan, as it has no food to transfer the heat to. Again, overheating the atty.

Naw, can't be that. Must be cooties.

Pilot 401 from Puresmoke. I drip(no cart) and rotate 2 attys. I just put up 1 atty after almost 2 months due to eratic performance, burt taste and mainly it just wont hole the juice anymore. 1 drop goes straight to the batt. I will give it to the 401 batts, they may be sensitive but I have wiped quite bit of juice out of them and had to suck some out (yuk) (no jokes please;) :D) but they still work. Not big on the evo batts especialy the smaller atom. I got a 2-3 sec cuttoff. Havent played withe the evo atty yet.

Just about to play with some 901's from TW when my GG gets here and some batts from deal extream for my own mods (pending :D )

I found that soaking them in diet coke (has less sugar) at least once a week will keep you atomizer working like a champ for longer than if you didnt clean it.

My 510 atomizer i have had to soak with diet coke twice since i started using it. Both times my atomizer was getting wimpy as hell and really hot.

soak it overnight,
then rinse it with water to get all the crap out,
blowdry it completly (this is important)
lubricate atom with liquid and burn up all the residue left by pressing the manual button for 5 sec intervals until you do not hear a sizzling sound anymore.

After all of that, the atomizer should be really clean and should last you a long time. Theres many experienced members that have noticed atomizers dying because of the built up residue, not because of malfunction.

When i have the time i want to go out and buy some ice machine cleaner, i believe it was the member sun vaporer that first tried this method with success (im sorry if i got the wrong person). Of course use safe chemicals and use at your own risk

So far i have had one 901 atomizer die on me because i was too stupid to dry it completely after rinsing it with water. :(

I've just gone through 2 pen-style atomizers in about a week.

Performance on both was fantastic at first then within days became so feeble they were unusable. I tried boiling them in water for about half an hour but it hasn't made any difference. I'm now down to one working atomizer and debating whether to continue with the 'hobby' or just quit. I only use low-strength liquid so quitting shouldn't be too difficult.
