I ordered some stuff from Heaven-gifts. It's got the JFKA pretty quickly,but how long do the packages stay in customs? i've ordered other stuff from China before,and this is the first time I've actually see"handed over to customs"on the tracking

I wouldn't worry about it much..yet. Sometimes it goes right in and out, other times it can be longer. However, going through JFk is very slow, or at least it can be. A wait of a week is not uncommon for when we send stuff from the UK to the US, it gets to the US in under 2 days then sits around for a week.

My China orders are usually in and out of customs quite quickly, and I've never encountered any problems.......
Mine have said that before. I'd say 2-3 days, but it shouldn't be anything to worry about.
I have had a few stuck in customs for nearly a week before they were released, but usually a few days and they are out!
I had a couple of laser pointers held up in Chicago for 3 weeks... when I did get the package it was repackaged with the Fed inspection tape & everything was tossed inside. I've never been hit by Customs while doing the e-cig thing from China tho... lucky I guess.
DOn't be too concerned yet. I have had several shipments that arrived at my door before the online tracker showed they were out of customs. EMS shipments are usually only a few days. I have had regular airmail shipments held longer.
I think my package is safe. The tracking says something about it clearing customs and inbound out of customs
