How long should it take an 18650 to charge

I bought a 18650 and 4 18350s the 350s charged in about 3 hours.. the 650 is going. On 8.... is this normal.. these were all brand new if that matters...

If you look at another charger, the xtar WP2 II is a pretty good one. RTDvapor and several other places carry it, reasonable price. You can set it to the 1A max charging current for your 18650 batteries, that speeds the charge cycle up nicely. For 18350s you would need to pick up a spare pair of spacers, they cost about $1.

On my days off, I just throw 'em in the charger just before I brew some coffee, and by dinner time they're done!

Adding to Markfm's post, an Xtar charger will cut your charging times by half -3 hours for a 18650 and about 1.5 for a 18350

It takes around 4~ hours to charge my AW's on my Tenergy 2 bay. Has an output of 500ma.

If I'm not mistaken, you look at the ma output of your charger and the mah of your battery. 2200 mah AW should then take roughly 4 hours to charge.

Not 100% on that though...

the TR-001 charges at 0.5A where the xstar wp2 charge at 1A, twice as fast. You can even buy a charger at 2A now, that will charge a 18650 in about an hour!

I have a NiteCore Intellicharger i2 (2-bay, also comes in a 4-bay version). It takes about 5 1/2 hours for me to charge 1 18650 from a starting voltage of 3.4v.

It also depends on how low you let your battery get in between charges. I've been charging when it get's down to about 3.7 volts, and it takes about 4 hours to charge. I have an Xtar, but usually have it set on .5A instead of 1A because the slower charge extends the batteries life, allowing more charging cycles. It's nice to have the 1A option available though if I need a quicker charge.

So true, didn't thought about this, I too charge it when it reaches 3.6, sometimes 3.7, at 1A it only takes about 1.5 hours for me.

Also note that not 18650s are created equally - as i found out to my annoyance (for one thing they are different sizes!!). My protected AW ic 3100mAh batteries that fit in my Silver Bullet -err but not my REO - take about 8 hours to fully charge.
My AW lmr (different chemistry and no protection circuit - hey they tell me it's safer chemically than Li-ion) 2200, 2000 and 1600mAh batteries take anything from 2-4 hours to charge.

I have an Xstarwp II charger and a backup Tenergy one. I also always charge them all now in a protection bag after i had one of the lmr's vent and melt my other Xstar charger and toast my wall!

BTW,yes,it can take a tad longer for brand new batteries sometimes for the initial charge;

At 1st,dont let them go down under 50% for 5-6 cycles then after that,rock them.

It takes about 2.5 hours to charge a 2200mah 18650 in the Xtar WPII charger set at 1 amp.

I use this one Fast 18650 li-ion battery charger -dual channel-1A per channel for my 18650's it charges them in less then 2 hours
