How long to stop smoking cigarettes?

First post! What's up ECF?

Not a bad idea to have a few posts required for anti-spamming purposes. Unfortunately that makes me have to use my brain before my first cup of coffee. Ouch.

Here's a thought - a big reason I entered the vaping industry was to stop smoking cigarettes. It probably took me about 5 months to lose all desire for a cigarette, which is something I literally felt was impossible. I'm actually quite proud of myself :2cool:

How long did it take for you to make the full transition?

Keep vaping!

It has taken me 8 months. Today is the first day of not smoking at all. I filled a carto with 24 mg halo sub zero and made myself vape that instead. I'm making myself do it. I keep saying to myself it's the same. It doesn't feel quite the same but I'm sitting in my garage like I do when I smoke drinking coffee and vaping.

It's been really hard because so little of the equipment appeals to me. I have egos but they hit hard and make me cough although once warmed up I can take an ego. I don't like sweet flavors in the morning. My eRoll atty's are done but someone nice from here is sending me a couple :) it's really hard to quit. It's been a journey. I'm better than I was though and it has taken a long time to find a set up. I realized I prefer cigalike sand I would prefer to have lots of cigs likes because it's just like smoking. So I'm going to run 5 eRoll batteries when I find atty's and cones and then I'm going to run a few 510's with carts with higher mg of nic then I was using. I didn't realize how much nic mg makes a difference. I

I can't answer, I know that it was a while and by that I mean more than six months. There came a day where I realized that I had not smoked a cigarette in a couple of days. From that point on I haven't smoked and, for insurance purposes, I am a non-smoker and have been for many months. But it happened more than a conscious effort. I think I simply got to liking the vape more than the cigarette and the unrealized preference took over.

Keep Vaping!

I've been vaping for about a month now, and been smoke free for about 3 weeks. I still have the urge to light one up but hopefully it fades with time!

Maybe a week and a half until I seriously started. The first week I was using this little cigalike set I got from a vendor on alibaba. I was still mixing it with cigs until I got the Ecom-C. Then I had 1 cigarette the day I got it, then 1/2 a cig the second day because it tasted nasty, then 2 puffs in the 3rd day. I tossed the rest of my pack in the trash and haven't really been tempted, although right now I have no intention of reducing nic levels.

Did you quit smoking completely at the beginning of that 5 months or were you smoking for that 5 mo ths and vaping and eventually quit?

Hey Bob - it was a slow transition. I eventually noticed that the thought of a cigarette seemed much less appealing if I vaped a couple times, and even if I still decided to smoke the cigarette it was much less enjoyable than the vape. I seemed to simply lose interest in the gross, carcinogenic smoke and prefer the clean, delicious vapor.

I have several friends who went through the same transition. Vapor ...!

Quitting can definitely be a journey, and everybody is going to do it in their own way. I applaud you for sticking to it and pursuing the right setup. You sound very well versed in the vape jargon! Keep it up :)

I did the same thing. I just stopped smoking and wouldn't let myself smoke again. It took a bit and now I actually like this better. I still smoke some tobacco flavors but now addicted to the cheesecake flavors. But come on cheesecake should be a food group. I wouldn't go back now.

I stopped smoking analogs as soon as I started vaping. For me, switching off was the whole point. After 4 days, I can't say I don't want a cigarette, but I also don't feel like I need a cigarette.

^^^^^^me, too. When I started vaping, I never felt like I needed a cigarette, but every once in a while I wondered what it would be like. I just vaped through it and never tried one, didn't think trying one would prove anything and might upset my plans to quit. After 13 months now, I absolutely don't need nor want a cigarette.
