It has taken me 8 months. Today is the first day of not smoking at all. I filled a carto with 24 mg halo sub zero and made myself vape that instead. I'm making myself do it. I keep saying to myself it's the same. It doesn't feel quite the same but I'm sitting in my garage like I do when I smoke drinking coffee and vaping.

It's been really hard because so little of the equipment appeals to me. I have egos but they hit hard and make me cough although once warmed up I can take an ego. I don't like sweet flavors in the morning. My eRoll atty's are done but someone nice from here is sending me a couple :) it's really hard to quit. It's been a journey. I'm better than I was though and it has taken a long time to find a set up. I realized I prefer cigalike sand I would prefer to have lots of cigs likes because it's just like smoking. So I'm going to run 5 eRoll batteries when I find atty's and cones and then I'm going to run a few 510's with carts with higher mg of nic then I was using. I didn't realize how much nic mg makes a difference. I

Congrats on your first day of not smoking!!! Stick with it and you WILL get there!! That first morning smoke was the hardest for me as well... just something about it made it easier for me to wake up in the mornings... now, I get a Monster and my vape and I'm good to go! And I know what you mean about how much difference the nic level makes... I was stuck at 36mg for YEARS!! I'm finally down to between 6 and 12mg, but trust me when I say it CAN be done! I'm right around the 5 year mark with no cigs now... and don't let anyone tell you what equipment you need... if the eRolls are working for you, then run the crap out of them, but I'd get one of the PCC cases for it... I had one for my 510 batteries, and that thing saved my bacon more times than I can count...
Anyway, good luck with it and HANG IN THERE!! You can do this!!

It took me 3 days when I set my mind to trying not to smoke. My sister & I were messing around a bit the weekend before I quit and my nephew was making juices. I bought juices from him, they tasted so much better than what I could by around us at the time. She put her last cigarette out on that Saturday, I however smoked until Monday July 29, 2013 and never had a cigarette since. I quit with 9 packs left sold 8 and still have on in the freezer.
I had smoked 2PAD for 30 years! Still can't believe I did that! Good luck to everyone!

I was one of the fortunate ones who picked up an apv and never touched another cigarette but....the desire to smoke lingered with me for quite a while, 2-3 weeks at least. I would catch myself reaching for a pack that didnt exist. Vaping got me thru those days but honestly just barely. From day one I was sure that vaping would let me quit cigarettes for good but the experience showed me just how strong my addiction really was.

I stopped the day I came home from the vape shop with my starter kit, and haven't lit up since then. It's important to get the right nic mg to start, especially if you were a heavy smoker like I was. The shop sent me home with 12 mg juice. It worked, and I didn't smoke, but I needed something stronger. I went back and got 18 mg, and then quickly bumped up to 24, which has been great.I didn't smoke with the lower mg, but I sure wanted to.

First post! What's up ECF?

Not a bad idea to have a few posts required for anti-spamming purposes. Unfortunately that makes me have to use my brain before my first cup of coffee. Ouch.

Here's a thought - a big reason I entered the vaping industry was to stop smoking cigarettes. It probably took me about 5 months to lose all desire for a cigarette, which is something I literally felt was impossible. I'm actually quite proud of myself :2cool:

How long did it take for you to make the full transition?

Keep Vaping!

Six weeks about for me to stop sneaking one or two cigs a day. A few months to stop thinking about them entirely. Not even sure how long because I wasn't paying attention. Walked past a smoker sometime back around January, right through their smoke cloud, and it hit me I didn't care. Realized I still actually liked the smell of tobacco smoke but it was a "I used to do that" thing instead of a "wish I had one".

So not sure when that happened.

Funny thing too. I thought I'd have to be one of those annoying ex-smokers that acts like some kind of new religious convert fanatic and flee smokers like they were the devil. Well... turns out, it doesn't bother me. I did NOT expect that. Not at all.

And on the third day..... There was vaping only...

I bought a starter kit and didn't smoke the rest of the day, had 2 cigarettes the second day, they both tasted horrible and only smoked half the second one anyway. Also on the 3rd day I bought my first mech from a b&m and started dripping, that really put a stop to any cravings.

Now I mostly use dna30 with kayfuns and I have no cravings after more than 2 months of being smoke free. Also I might add, I smoked for 22 years PAD and I'm already down to just 3-6 mg depending on what juice I'm vaping.

Keep up the good work everyone! Oh, don't forget to comment on the FDA site to help the fight to keep our right to vape! There's some threads around here about it. Super easy!

It took me 16 days from the day I got my first cigalikes in the mail to no real cigs. Now it's been 30 days smoke-free...and instead of smelling like I licked an ashtray, my mouth tastes like mint....or absinthe....or grapes! So much nicer! And no depression, like when I went cold-turkey or was on the patch or Chantix.

This past Saturday at 3Pm was my last cigarette, that was right after buying my mvp 2.. It's been 4 days now and I have to say the second day was the worse I had craves like crazy, that day I probably went through atleast 15ml of juice but now I have no cravings what so ever even though I still hang around with smokers and they smoke right in front of me.

I quit back in Feb with the patch. Made it about a month and started sneaking cigs. Bought a logic ecig and that helped a lot. Made it till last month but I bought a pack of cigs. That lasted me 2 weeks but I don't want to smoke anymore. I then finally went to a vape shop 2.5 weeks ago. So far I've been CIG free. I have some cravings but nothing a healthy vape won't cure. Was smoking over a pack a day and on 6mg right now and feeling good!
