How low on OHms ?

Hello group,

Looking to find out what what the lowest Ohm's the MVP & SVD will handle without any problems?

please dont flame me, I'm trying to learn and be safe at the same time

I picked up an IGO W3, and sucessfuly made a coil, its reading .9 ohms, 5 wraps on 28 gauge
I probably need 6 wraps.

Is that too Low for these innokin's?


Just playing with it untill I get a mod to work with. I know I'll be needing a 30amp 18650, but I just aint there yet.
I like building the coils, may as well practice it

If I'm building on a regulated mod I usually build at or above 1.5 because the cutoff is usually around 1.2 or 1.3. And that .2 ohms isn't going to make a huge difference on those builds.

Svd had a 1.2 cut off. The mvp says 0.8, but I would like above 1.2-1.3 and then crank up the voltage. They both will max out at 3.0-3.5 amps so check your builds with a ohms calc to find a sweet spot for you.

I'm using a 1.3 ohm microcoil in my KFL+. It is used on a MVP, Provari, and Silver Bullet mechanical. I've built as low as 1.1 ohm and all three were able to fire it.

I'd go a little higher....maybe 7 to 9 wraps if 5 wraps gave you .9. That will be in the 1.3 to 1.6 neighborhood. Regardless....there are some very knowledgeable posts in here about starting the coil building process. At least you are starting with a regulated mod and are asking questions before going further and this is a good thing.Keep it safe and this can be a cool trip.
