You can never have too many batteries, well within limits. Anyway when I use my 350 mod I carry four extra batts in a plastic case, when vaping sub ohm I have use sony 30A 2000 mah with on in the mod and two extra in a case. I never seem to go batt dry when doing so, oh I do also keep a charger in my truck just in case. Hum, the word "case" keeps coming up, just never keep loose batteries in you pockets or such, not that your are, just some advice.

I have a simple rule of thumb for buying a mech
-Buy two batteries of the size you'll be using with the new mech

Me personally, Im mainly an 18650 guy, so each new mech gets two new 18650s. I sparingly run 490 or 350 mode, so I dont need to have enough for every mod to run at once with those sizes. I have plenty of them anyway. But for 18650 mode, I like every mech to have two batteries, at least.

    Aw IMR 18650 1600mah 24amp
    Efest 18650 1600mah 30amp
    Sony VTC4 2100mah 30amp

First, second and third choice. I dont like the Sonys as much as the other two, I feel like they drop below 4.0v faster than the others. Could be in my head. Whether fact or fiction, its how I end up feeling about them at the end of the day. Ill use them, but I grab for the Aw IMR or Efest ones first.

Uh, is there an 18350 battery that can support subohms??? I'm just assuming the ones listing an 18350 battery in their arsenal is with their sub-ohm builds...

I'll skip any kind of defensive speech and cut to the chase: Yes, I use AW 18350s on 0.8 ohm setups. Wouldn't go any lower with them. I use bigger batteries for pulsing mesh wicks, tho.

I have 2 350s for my Magneto. I don't subohm though. I'm looking at buying more batteries, but I like the mod compact because it will fit in the little pocket in my jeans without sticking out much. I just bought it yesterday though. I put a fresh battery in it this morning and vaped on it for about 10 hours and it was still at 3.9vdc when I took it out this evening. My coil is at 1.7 ohms. My Zmax I have would go through a battery faster, I guess because of the electronics in it.

Dont use 18350's with sub ohm builds - you're asking for trouble. Especially in mechanical mods. A battery will always be the weakest link in a mechanical mod. Meaning if something is gonna fail it WILL be the battery, and could potentialy be incredibly dangerous. An 18350 at 4.2 volts with a .7 ohm coil will draw 6 amps which is the max on many 350 batteries. You don't want to draw the max amount of amps from a battery, besides venting your battery you could easily discharge it to a ruined degree.

Get a few Sony VTC4s they're 30 amp batteries that can be found for about 8$ if you look in the right places. I own two and that's enough for me. I own others but these are the only ones I run under .8 ohms - for peace of mind. Just make sure you buy good batteries - they're the last thing you wanna skimp on.

    Good luck!!
