i think fluorescent is the way to go.. A fluorescent lamp or fluorescent tube is a gas-discharge lamp that uses electricity to excite mercury vapor. The excited mercury atoms produce short-wave ultraviolet light that then causes a phosphor to fluoresce, producing visible light. A fluorescent lamp converts electrical power into useful light more efficiently than an incandescent lamp. Lower energy cost typically offsets the higher initial cost of the lamp. The lamp is more costly because it requires a ballast to regulate the flow of current through the lamp.

While larger fluorescent lamps have been mostly used in commercial or institutional buildings, the compact fluorescent lamp is now being used as an energy-saving alternative to incandescent lamps in homes. Compared with incandescent lamps, fluorescent lamps last longer, but are generally bulkier, more complex and contain trace amounts of mercury.

Just throwing this out there...I am really offended by the name "bulb". It is awkward to use, confusing because I put the same thing in my gardens, doesn't really represent what it does accurately...I mean how awkward is it to go out in public saying something like "I use a bulb instead of a candle".
Could we come up with another name for it?

Guys, my light bulb doesn't seem to produce as much light as some of the others I've seen in video reviews on YouTube. I can't figure out how to make it brighter.

Do the guys in the videos use more wattage, or something? Maybe a filament mod?
Try the plug mod. You'll get more light. You can buy them at HomeDepot.

I really suggest you spend some time and read DonDaBoomLightBlub's beginners page at http ://righttohavelight.com/new members/get a clue/knowyourlightbulb.com

Here is a good picture of how your light bulb works.

You probably need to blow out your bulb. You probably flooded it. Unscrew from the socket and blow on it from the end with the threads.
