If it made me laugh.
If someone showed inordinate kindness to anyone.
If I learned something valuable to me whether I like the info or not.
And if someone tried to help me of course.
Because I hate to type.I "like" very freely and use it to communicate agreement or understanding of another's posts especially when I don't have more to add. It affirms people and lets them know that they didn't just submit that post into a vacuum. I love the "like" button
Isn't liking another way of keeping track of what you've read already?![]()
Well we won't talk about the Infractions I received in appreciation of GoodNews then.in all fairness, you should disclose that you received 1110 of those likes in appreciation of GoodNews.![]()
"LIKES" is an easy and wonderful way of telling a member how you feel about what they had posted. It's also a good way to show support to someone's point of view in the many discussions throughout ECF.
My current stats:

What are your stats?![]()
^^Agreed!I don't know (I'll come back after checking) but am pretty sure I give more than I get. I've been here around a year and a half or so and have noticed a fairly recent trend. It seems new members don't say thanks much anymore. By that I mean they don't hit the "like" button nor post a "thanks." I'm not saying new members DON'T say thanks just that I don't see as many doing it as I used to see. Maybe its just a sign of the times in general on and offline?
Edit: Received 2403 Given 2869
And thinking about it there was a thread a while back one "Why do you give thanks?" I said :
If it made me laugh.
If someone showed inordinate kindness to anyone.
If I learned something valuable to me whether I like the info or not.
If I'm replying to someone I'm quoting (to flag them.)
And if someone tried to help me of course.
^^Me too and then I use a smiley to reaffirm itI "like" very freely and use it to communicate agreement or understanding of another's posts especially when I don't have more to add. It affirms people and lets them know that they didn't just submit that post into a vacuum. I love the "like" button![]()
I use the like button even if what the person posted isn't likeable, but just to acknowledge it tooI too, love the "like" button. I do wish there was an "unlike" or something, if someone posts something sad or a bad thing that happened. Don't really like to "like' those, but if you don't it can make you look like an .... As it is, you end up "liking" something that just isn't likeable.![]()
^^THAT could be quite amusing and handy to have a "dislike" button in some cases, yepI really, really, really want a "dislike" button sometimes.
