How many of you quickly switched to other flavors as your main vape and how many have stuck with tobacco flavors?

It seems to me that the majority of people here switched over from tobacco flavors very quickly, I know I did. Within a week I was mainly vaping coffee flavors, and then I moved onto baked goods flavors.

I'm writing a paper advocating electronic cigarettes as a harm reduction alternative to combusted tobacco for a college course (45yrs old, and back to school - sigh) and I'd like to have at least an informal poll to use as data as a supporting point.

I'll post the paper (6 double-spaced pages) when I'm done and its graded. Most of my material has to be from peer-reviewed journals (5 articles so far) some published raw data (2 sources) but I'm allowed some anecdotal evidence.

Thanks!

I've started out with tabacco flavoured carts, which was all I had and even though a bit boring, was ok. But when I found out about e-liquid, got super excited so now I'm only vaping cool flavours, haha. I like chocolate mint, menthol, vanilla, coconut, yummy! I always direct drip, but I just realised I dont have any tabacco juice. Using carts never really produced a good throat hit for me, so I might have to get a bottle with my next order, to vape when I'm out drinking or something. But I'm a bit worried that vaping tabacco flavours will make me want to get back to analogs. I haven't had a craving for them since I started vaping, but I only smoked sweet and fruity flavours, so I dont know.

I only vape sweet flavors. Cola with a hint of menthol is my current all day vape. Cinnamon, amaretto, spearmint, jasmine and honeysuckle are some of my other favorites. I have over 100 flavors and not one of them is tobacco flavored. I'm trying to distance myself from those flavors as they remind me of smoking. Yuck! It's been almost 6 months since I smoked and If I had to vape only tobacco flavors I don't think I'd have made it. The sweet, yummy flavors made it easier to switch. Good luck with school! :)

I got a mix of flavours for my first order, but I got lots of tobaccos.
I used a tobacco as the first thing I vaped, but then tried something else, cappuccino I think.
Never used the tobacco since. Don't like it at all.

Make sure you check out the following paper from the Royal College of Physicians, if you haven't already done so.
Best thing on harm reduction I've read so far.

"(45yrs old, and back to school - sigh)" ... Why the sigh? You have my envy! Although I missed the chance to be in your shoes by a little over a decade.

Anyway, it didn't take very long for me to largely switch to non-tobacco flavors. They remained as part of my staple assortment for a while. But I found myself using them less and less as time went on, until after a few months I stopped altogether.

I've still got several tobacco flavors on hand which I recall enjoying in the past. I sampled one recently and didn't like it at all. It's six months old ... maybe it has spoiled.

I feel that I (and others) convinced ourselves that we enjoyed the taste of tobacco smoke. Kinda hard to keep believing that when you've tried so many other much better flavors.

cola with menthol? now that sounds interesting!

I started with a multitude of flavors! I usually try to buy a coffee, desert/fruit, and some form of a tobacco. I like to mix flavors so I guess I switched to everytyhing. My favorite analog cig was a winter mochamint that camel discontinued so I'm not surprised I love vaping. I made a flavor from gourmetvapor to replicate that. We'll see how it is when I get it

I used the menthol tobacco that came with my kit, it was kind of spearminty. So the first liquid purchase was familiar things like that...spearmint, sassafrass, absynthe. Then I moved to dessert flavors and coffees. Now I either use my own peppermint or a fresh fruit "champagned" liquid.

My first order of juice was mainly non-tobacco, but I really liked the one or two tobaccos that I had picked out..

I still vape a lot of tobaccos, though I do have a lot of non's.. I only like 1 fruit juice, the rest is all sweet/savory/bakery type stuff I guess. I do some mints and menthols, coffees, and of course will try things out of my norm that have raving reviews. :p

For me it's a quest. :)

I have tried a lot of flavors, though I started with tobacco, like most everyone else. I found several flavors that I liked at first, but none that I wanted to stay with. I do like AVE Hype, but have found after 8 months of vaping, I still prefer tobacco flavors. Looking through my stash, I found that the ones that I have close at hand are all tobacco (except a fresh bottle of Hype), and my "sometimes" shelf is fruit flavors or bakery flavors. I like tobacco!

I didn't switch to vaping all at once. It took me a while (over three months) to find myself vaping most of the time. Even now I still have two tobacco flavors that I keep enjoying. I have never been into the sweet juices, so even my fruity juices are on the "dry" side (orange, coconut and such). Maybe there is a link between enjoying tobacco flavors and not liking the sweet flavors?

Thats a great paper! Thanks! It rolls up into one source a lot of the different datapoints I've collected. At 252 pages its a little large but a lot of it is historical data and fluff. A good read all by itself.

So far its seems to be confirmed, the majority start out on tobacco but switch to non-tobaccos as their main vapes. Its not universal though.

Yeah, I'm going for a BS in Computer Engineering. I'm topped out at my job with my current useless underwater basketweaving (AA Applied Sciences - Aeronautics) that I got while I was Active Duty AF.

The PITA is that my basic Math, English, Chem, etc classes that I did back in the 80s are so old they wont accept them, so I have to do them over.

I'm sort of the opposite. I started off with straight menthol/fruit/sweeter liquids and eventually I moved into liking some tobacco flavors. I vape Boba's Bounty most of the day, which is a tobacco flavor, albeit, a sweet one. I still vape my sweeter liquids, but Boba's is my all day.

I too wrote a paper on the electronic cigarettes recently, though, the focus on my paper was on all Smoke Cessation products. Even though the electronic cigarette isn't marketed as a smoke cessation product, I think it's pretty safe to say that most of us here no longer smoke because of vaping. Good luck!
